We offer a 24/7 routine and specialist vet care service across the North West, as well as a dedicated mobile home visit service. State of the art facilities including operating theatres, imaging suites with on-site CT. We accept referrals in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, neurology, cardiology, laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) and feline medicine. What more could you wish for?

🥕 Guinea pigs need fresh hay every day to keep their teeth and tummies happy.
🍊 They can’t make their own vitamin C, so they need veggies like peppers or kale.
👯‍♀️ They’re super social — life’s better with a piggy pal! In some countries it’s actually illegal to keep them alone!

If your piggies need a health check, nail trim, or you just want to chat about diet and housing, pop in or give us a squeak 📞🐾

But this year we thought let’s go one step further! We are going to do a client competition. Please bring your carved pumpkins to the practice by 27th October where we will shortlist them and vote as a team on our favourite 3 before sharing the winner!

Vet Bashing: A perspective from my desk!

A wonderful client who received awful news last night thanked me for all my help, kind support and said ‘thank god there are people like you who do all that studying to help people like me’.

As a vet I try my best, work incredibly long hours (I gave this news on my weekend off when I should have been at home) and sacrifice time with my family and friends. Most importantly 99% of the people I see appreciate what I do, understand we are not cheap (neither are we expensive) but that providing the best isn’t cheap and genuinely love us for putting their pets first.

The trolls and the sensationalist media stories are just that - cheap shots by people who have not yet been fortunate enough to achieve the happiness in life I have and I hope they find it soon.

In the meantime my advise to vet-staff and clients is to ignore it - work with your vet as a team. We are independent, we know our clients, we love our patients and we love each other as colleagues. As a result we have won awards, accolades and acceditations - that far outweighs a comment here or there in mainstream media based on simple ignorance.

As an independent will continue to work with Vet-Led companies who truly care about pets to deliver a service which only cares for doing the best to help and supporting clients!

Many of our team drink plenty of water, which helps them perform to the best of their abilities! 💧

We wanted to be both sustainable and give the team a reward for all their hard work, whilst keeping them healthy!

Today we took installation of our amazing new water machine that allows the team to choose their water temperature, flavours and if to include vitamin and electrolyte boosts!

Did you know we are not only 24-7 and a family-ran independent veterinary practice but we were recently awarded the prestigious RCVS Hospital Status Accreditation.

To achieve this we must meet all the standards of the lower accreditation levels (Core and GP) plus do the following extra things;

✅ On site nursing staff 24-7
✅ Vet available 24-7
✅ Commit to improve and audit standards
✅ Have specialist equipment
✅ Pass a rigourous inspection of the premises and facilities and demonstrate exceptional cleanliness and sterility

The good news was we passed with flying colours and this makes us the ONLY independent RCVS Hospital on the Wirral.

Well done to Sara our Practice Manager and the whole team for their exceptional commitment to achieving this accreditation and acknowledgement of Sanderson Vet as the very best place for your pets care!
