Last month was Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month.

We considered a generic ‘thanks to our amazing nurses’ post but thought why not go that extra step further as we always say thank you every day, as well as investing in wellbeing support such as our amazing water machine offering all sorts of sustainable flavoured waters!

We decided instead to invest in them as a team and bought them all a unlimited subscription to The Webinar Vet where they can access as many free webinar’s on clinical but importantly also non-clinical training in areas like sustainability, clinical governance and wellbeing!

At Sanderson Vet we believe in really rewarding the team with things that help us grow together and grow closer!

While most people were fast asleep at midnight, five members of our team were setting off on an adventure to tackle Snowdon for sunrise! 🌄🥾

Starting off in the dark, they braved strong winds, persistent rain, and visibility that was pretty much zero from start to finish. Not exactly the picture-perfect sunrise they were hoping for! 🌧️💨

That said, judging by the smiles (and the soggy waterproofs), it looks like they had a fantastic time despite the weather. Sometimes it's the toughest conditions that make the best memories!

We think you'll all agree they've earned a hot drink, a warm shower, and a well-deserved rest. ☕😴

We want your help!

Here at Sanderson Vet we really believe in protecting our environment! We have some big plans this year to further develop our environmental protection but we intend to start on Tuesday on an environmental day.

We want volunteers on Tuesday to help us clean and tidy the alleyway behind our offices. You will help the team and get to know us better, plus we will make a more insect and bee friendly environment! Let us know if you can help support our local wildlife!

As a Bee Friendly Practice we are planning a day to clean up and plant wild flowers in an alleyway behind our offices. It’s a shared alleyway in some disrepair!

We haven’t confirmed a date(s) yet but if you are interested please comment below or email [email protected].

We would particularly be keen to hear from people with gardening skills as there is some big messy bush/tree that may be a challenge!

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Working in the veterinary profession can be incredibly rewarding but it can also be emotionally challenging at times. This week is a reminder of the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing, supporting one another and checking in on those around us.

At Sanderson Vet, we recognise the importance of kindness, compassion and support not just for our patients but for our team, clients and wider community too. Many of our staff are mental health first aiders so they can help anybody in need.

A simple conversation, a moment of understanding or asking someone if they’re ok can make a real difference. 💚

From comforting nervous pets and supporting owners, to monitoring anaesthetics, running tests and providing inpatient care. Their role is so much more than people often realise.
