We recently saw a post about costs of routine surgery. So we decided to compare our prices against a local not-for-profit vets;
Let’s summarise our prices, which are available on our website!
Cat Castration £75 - so we are 25% cheaper
Cat Spey £100 - we are 46% cheaper
Dog Castration £200-240 - we are upto 17% cheaper
Dog Spey £260-300 - we are upto 16% cheaper
Rabbit Castration £85 - we are 54% cheaper
Rabbit Spey £140 - we are 25% cheaper
We never compete on price as we believe quality should always be the primary consideration!
Knowing we deliver this and offer routine prices that are 17-54% cheaper than non-profit clinics gives us immense pride in the our ability to offer affordable and excellent veterinary care!
Picture of some meerkats we treated… because they are cute!
Thank you to all those who voted for us in Wirrals Best for Pets! With over 100 newspaper nominations, over 100 online nominations and around 40 on the website we amassed over 650 points which ultimately proved not quite enough to get us over the line, after winning in 2023.
Well done to all the other finalists, it is great to see such great pet businesses on the Wirral!
We think our team really is the best and want to express our well done to our whole team for the work they do day-to-day to help look after pets 24/7.
As the only independent 24 hour clinic on the Wirral we really do appreciate the sacrifices the team makes to be there for animals around the clock!
And thanks to all of our clients for their kind votes and support - we really do see you as part of our Sanderson Vet family! Your kind nominations were so nice to read and share! We know you will be disappointed, as are we, but let’s transfer that into a positive.
If you get chance please repeat your nomination on VetHelpDirect (an industry review site) - you can review us each time you come in so if you have reviewed us already you can review us again if you choose;
All reviews must be within 90 days of visit. Reviews (with any photos) may be published on vethelpdirect.com and may appear on social media platforms and your veterinary practice's website.
Thanks for all your votes guys in the Wirral Globe Best for Pets 2024. So many of you managed to find time to support us!
Even if we don’t win it’s great to have been nominated. I see the teams hard work day2day as I’m in pretty much 7d/week and we do a great job for people’s pets.
What is really nice though is that it is clear as a family we all appreciated each other by taking the time to vote.
As clients thanks for showing you appreciate our hardwork as we do work hard! If pets could vote I think they would all have done so too as they know how well they are looked after.
Win or runner-up thanks so much to all those who took the time to support the practice! We are one of only 2 teams nominated last year and this which is a huge honour.
A big shout out to all the other nominees, who also do a fab job but especially well done to my friend Sharon at Celandine for all her hard work and thanks to Dogs Go for letting my dog play at Doggy Day Care - Cali loves Phillipa!

Wellness means how to keep pets healthy in advance of sickness, focusing on prophylactic health management rather than reactive medicine. This means less illness, less use of medicines, greater quality of life and longer lives for our pets!
Richard is renowned in this field, which is lucky for us, but today and tomorrow he will be away lecturing at an exclusive Wellness event with groups travelling across the UK to listen to how they can improve their Wellness offerings!
Have fun Richard!
Our orthopaedics team, led by our own “Northern Supervet” Tom, are some of the most experienced in the area.
This gives access to affordable, excellent orthopaedic repairs that can be done quickly and without the long anaesthetic times which is common with less experienced surgeons.
Look at this beautiful fracture repair performed by our surgery team!

Naomi is from N.Ireland so brings some international flare to our reception team! With a degree in Zoology Naomi is always the one who thinks the weather is great, meaning she always has a smile on her face!
Helen is a true SV advocate and many of you will have seen her as both client and as part of the Reception team. Helen is noted for her infectious enthusiasm and is always a big personality. You will know her as the spokesperson for the SV fan club!
Susan is the newest member of the team, joining us from another local vet practice. She loves the family feel of an independent practice and is enjoying being part of your journey when you visit.
