PUPPY SOCIALIZATION - The RIGHT way @ Starters
It's always lovely to see the puppies develop their social skills & grow in confidence over the 6 weeks! I always make sure we have
😍Small groups
😍No one is forced to interact
😍Owners are educated as to puppy posture/body language
😍Puppies have safe space
😍Puppies are given time - if they don't want to meet & greet, that's fine

This way, no one is intimidated or over-faced & puppies develop into secure, confident adults with appropriate play and social skills

Absolutely - give your dog a little break now & then...we always do this during 1 to 1s, don't you give yourself a coffee break? Some dogs (like us) will be able to stick at it a little more than others, these dogs definitely need shorter, smarter sessions with their own 'coffee breaks'...or sniffing breaks...just a little down time to take everything in & then they're good to go. Every dog is an individual, there is never a 1 size fits all plan - seeing the dog for who she is, gets the greatest results!

A lot of humans get all excited about training their dogs!

They want to be doing, doing, doing, teaching, having their dogs learn this new thing, then that new thing.

They get hyper focused on results and outcomes, and sometimes forget that their dog's capacity for learning might not be able to cope with all of this enthusiasm!

Your dogs need little rests and breaks throughout your training sessions.

They need these times to assimilate, integrate, and regulate.

If you don;t give your dogs small rests during traing sessions, you'll tend to over cook them. they may get frustrated, tired, lose capacity to learn, and then youmight feel like a failure.

I encourage you to set a time - and every 5m or so, just pause for 1 minute of doing nothing, allowing your dogs to have a little bit of space to consolidate, relax, and let go.

When you do this, you'll likley notice much quicker, more effective, and happier learning!
