Expectant Weanlings...
We are delighted to confirm we will be re opening for Encounters, 2 weeks today, on 12/4/21.
The video below shows our weanlings from last year plus some “empty” females. Please excuse the background noise - but they are curious to meet their adoring public again - after months of lockdown for alpacas too.
By the end of April we should have 1 or 2 of our 2021 cria arrive too. All being well any visitors should get the chance to meet them too.
We have hand washing facilities and all activities are outside. We will keep parties small and bespoke - initially at least.
You can “message” to book or feel free to call Paul 07984458869 to discuss your preferred dates/group size.
We look forward to welcoming you
Feeding from the hand
During our Encounters, often, one of the highlights is meeting the inquisitive babies (cria). The Class of 2020 are now all weaned and love their hard feed.
We long for the day when we can welcome you all back - this years cria should start to arrive in April.
Stay safe and sane everyone.
We are missing you all during the latest lockdown. The alpacas cope really well this weather - not so keen on the slush when it thaws.
This vid was taken yesterday morning after an early flurry.
Everyone already fed once today ahead of the forecast snow.
Stay safe everyone and we all hope to see you soon
Inquistive cria
Stop Press!! We are looking at gradually re-opening and taking bookings for encounters from 4th July.
There will be limitations and some strict rules but we don’t expect these to impinge on any alpaca lovers enjoyment.
We will be publishing a risk assessment very soon - on our website and hopefully on here.
The best way to book will be by ringing me - Paul - on 07984 458869. Ideally please wait until you’ve had the opportunity to read our risk assessment.
As you can see in the video we have lots of cute, inquisitive cria for you to meet, plus lots more.
Thank you for bearing with us - can’t wait to see you all soon
Best wishes from the team and herd at Alpaca Encounters
The wait is over, we have welcomed our first cria of the year!
Tumby was born at 10.45am, her Dam (mum) is Rumour and her Sire (dad) is Cosmic.
Rumour is a maiden which means this is her first cria. Tumby has been a little slow to find her feet but we are confident that she will soon be thriving.
We hope this has brought a little happiness to your Friday night, please continue to follow government advice and stay at home.
Thank you, Team Nero Black Alpaca 🖤
Feeding time in the paddocks... favourite time of day for the pregnant ladies!
A unique moment during a birthday party on Saturday when yearling Rumour decided to join the party and lay down for cuddles
Our last cria for 2018, unnamed as yet, a beautiful lively female with her coat on to keep her warm in the chilly wind.
Book your encounter now and come and meet her
My post of this vid failed yesterday but we are back at Brocksbushes today if you want to walk an alpaca - from 10.30am
Lots of new babies arriving at the moment, you can book an encounter and come and meet them
