This little guy was wandering in daylight in the middle of the road on Wednesday.. luckily I grabbed him in time as the car coming the other way didn't seem to have seen him.. he went off to see Annmarie the rescue, hopefully he'll be ready for release in a week or too.. please remember if they're out wandering in the day, it normally means there's an issue. If you're unable to help one then please give me a shout.. thanks x

A quick, but wholeheartedly felt 'Thank you!' to Steve for helping strim and mow the field tonight... normally the lovely Neil does it for me, but his tractor isn't feeling very well so for the second time Steve had volunteered his machines and time to help me cut it... believe me when I say, it's exhausting work doing a whole field, on a slope too!

Hi all... I've sent out messages to all usual Friday customers, but just in case anyone was hoping for an additional walk on Friday 5th July, unfortunately I won't be able to do any as I'm having to cancel walks that day.. Rhea started with a suspected eye ulcer just before we went away and has been on eye drops since then. Due to her having two eye tacking surgeries already to correct entropia, I've decided to have the full surgery to correct her eyes done a little sooner than planned, as otherwise we risk her losing the sight in her eye.. so we're off to Nottingham on Friday to see Jonathan who does work for the Sharpei Rescue I used to foster for, I'm hoping he can help Rhea and make this the last surgery she needs to correct her eyes. Sadly, it isn't a pleasant surgery and I know I'm going to feel horrendous taking her, but without it she will lose her sight eventually and be in discomfort as well... She has to go through all this due to bad breeding for greedy people who don't care about the dogs they 'produce'.. I really can't stress enough, don't breed your dogs or cats as there's enough in rescue who already need help, sharpeis especially as people really don't understand the health issues they have and how complicated this breed is... sorry again about Friday and my little rant but it upsets me so much... thanks Lou and Rhea xx

The gorgeous, and now healthy, Henrietta is back home.. I went to collect her on Sunday, and released her early evening... she spent a couple of minutes sniffing and waiting, and then she was off... she obviously knew where she was again, and where she was heading to, this is why it's so important to bring them home to their own environment.. Their buffet tea is out each night still, and it all goes..! Hungry Hogs! Videos in comments x

Turned out to be a busy Friday evening and weekend, always the way when I plan to have a day off..! Firstly Henrietta Hedghog who is one of the hedghogs I feed each evening, wasn't looking too good and was wandering in the garden when it was still daylight... after picking her up, it was clear she had a heavy tick burden... 70 in total.. poor girl... thankfully Annemarie at High Peak Hedgehog Rescue was able to take her straight away to start treatment, and Henrietta will be back with us hopefully in a week or so when she's back to full health...

Just as I was sorting Henrietta, I had a call about a Housemartin hatchling which had fallen from a nest... it was unable to be returned to the nest, so was brought to me to sort. A quick set up with a heat pad and make do hat nest, and it was soon back up to temperature and luckily started to feed well too... last feed was just after midnight, back up at 3.30am to check all was well and still warm etc, and back feeding at 6.30am... thankfully Kirstie at Ashford Wildlife Rehab was able to take Martin the HM, yesterday afternoon, hopefully he'll survive and be released once he's old enough... so grateful to have wildlife rescues to depend on... xx

Good evening all... it appears my invoice software has decided to change how we send the invoices... its now a slightly ridiculous system and has taken me far too long to figure it out... and also how you view them in your email system also seems to have changed, I think! When Sophie, Bert and Rhea get together, it's always a chaotic, daft time... lots of chasing, jumping, and generally rolling around on the floor, mainly by Sophie! They have great fun together, playing like puppies, it's fab to watch them!

The fabulous Rosie has come back to join us after a brief break.. its so lovely having her out to play again... a certain Bones who adores her was so excited when he saw her in the van, and with some new playmates as well, it was a fun filled hour!!

Darcy and Kash met last week... I've taken my time with this introduction, as they can both be excitable, and nervous... but it seems to have paid off... they've now been on a couple of pack runs together.. looks like Darcy has another friend on his list..!

Puppies at play.... Nova had very excitable legs, that she hasn't quite got the hang of yet... and then there's Rhea, she's not daft, she'll wait for Nova to race back rather than keep chasing her!

Darcy and Rhea playing... a few months ago this wouldn't have have been possible so I love watching them wrestle and chase each other... Darcys now realised that other dogs are great fun, and can't wait to get on the field with his pals... we still have a few friends to meet but he's done brilliantly.. well done Darcy!

It's hard work being fostered by a dog walker... Millys just too tired to eat her beef collagen chew from Fernmoss Pet Supplies... Rhea and Rosie have happily munched theirs, so I'll keep Millys safe for her..!

I swear Sophie thinks she's in a wrestling competition... she does the best wrestling moves, rolls and slides... hilarious girl!

Puppies playing.... Rhea and Sophie simply love playing together, as Sophie is just a little bit bigger than Rhea 😂 I always keep a close eye on them... but as you can see, Sophie spends a half the time doing forward rolls and jiggling on her back... with a few high speed runs around the field either chasing Rhea and Bert, or them chasing her... fun, fun, fun... oh and mud!

When your pals got the only ball you want to play with... even though there are several on the field! It doesn't help when Figit happily keeps squeezing and chomping on it to show she's got it... recently Bumbles decided Figit is great fun to chase and play with, no matter what ball she has, he's adamant that's the ball he wants!

Had this little guy (assumed a boy as I didn’t want to stress him out checking and wanted to call him Henry..) brought to me yesterday as he’d been found wandering down the lane in daylight… infected eyes which he couldn’t open, completely underweight and generally not in the best shape… after fresh food, water and a night in the summerhouse (it’s been used for more rescue animals that evening cocktails!) he’s gone off to hedgehog rescue today to hopefully recover and be released 🦔 x

Lyra generally leaves her sister to play with her other pals.. mainly Bert who Sophie adores! She sees field time as her chance to have some ‘me’ time and spend it doing what she loves best.. chasing balls and kongs!! However it was lovely to see her having fun chasing and playing with Sophie the other day..

They may be older now but Poppy and Dave have always played like puppies with each other… long may it continue as they’re always so funny to watch and they get such joy out of seeing each other..

Betty and Margo enjoying their cool watermelon this morning… lots of shade, hen paddling pool (they’re still not that keen!) and lots of vitamin water bowls scattered around in the shade for them and all the wild birds that are loving the extra attention too!
