This is an excellent video - it is important to check the fit, movement and comfort of your collars and harnesses that you use on your dog.
Ill fitting or restricting walk wear can cause discomfort, pain and muscle tension.

This handsome boy had a massage treatment yesterday - Ozzie shows some anxiety when being touched. Despite several vet and behaviourist visits, they hadn’t got to the bottom of why.
His first massage I took slowly with light pressure. He instantly relaxed! I have found a few areas where he wasn’t happy being touched - and I will build up working on those gradually - rather that overwhelming him on his first session.
Ozzie slept the rest of the day after his massage.

Massage therapy is a highly respected form of holistic healing and practiced across the world. Not only has it developed in the human world, it has also been realised as a valuable profession within the animal world.
Various massage and stretching techniques can be applied, enabling the animal to not only perform to their full potential, but for those who may be having a quieter life, it can keep them supple, comfortable and using themselves correctly in their golden years.
Massage is proven to:
🐴Increase and improve circulation
🐶Enhance muscle tone
🐱Relax muscle spasm
🐘Prevent and relieve tension and adhesions
🫏Increase the range of movement
Massage has many benefits. It can be used to rehabilitate your animal from injury, relieve discomfort, stiffness, lameness and help restore mobility. The aim is to promote the relaxation of tight, inflexible muscles, to improve their elasticity and range of movement (ROM). In addition, massage can help to cope with a wide variety of conditions such as arthritis.
Massage therapists work to reduce pain, improve movement and restore normal control in animals as a result of musculoskeletal conditions or as part of a maintenance fitness/general health programme.
In competitive or working animals, massage may be used as an intrinsic part of the development of the animal athlete. Helping to minimise the risk of injury and optimise performance and potential.
By analysing and assessing posture, movement, and skeletal function, Massage Therapists can help develop holistic treatment plans alongside veterinary treatment. These can often be accompanied by exercise and rehabilitation programs.

I created a dummy report this afternoon, so thought I would show you an example of how your report will look! Exciting!

The act of massaging muscles stimulates the release of endorphins, which helps to alleviate pain. If your dog has spent a long day running, playing, or swimming, this exertion can lead to soreness and stiffness in the joints and muscles. Massage will help to relax those muscles and release tense areas. A regular maintenance massage can help your dog stay in tip top condition.

I am delighted to share I have passed my canine massage course. A huge thank you to Animal Phyz for the wonderful training and patience as I tried to do this alongside being a new mum!
Thank you to all my model patients whom I was able to practice my massage techniques and develop my eye and touch to how a dog is feeling. I hope they all enjoyed their massages!
And my family and friends who have been there to look after little one so I had time to complete coursework and attend training.
A little break now, before I open my books to clients. I look forward to helping your canine friends with any pain, discomfort and rehabilitation through massage therapy.
