Here we are again. It’s been a rollercoaster year but somehow we’ve made it to Christmas 2024! I’ve enjoyed looking after so many of your dogs, they’ve all meant a lot to me. Little and large. Young and old. Sadly some gained their wings but have left many memories. I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. Remember…we all say that we have the perfect dog. And none of us are wrong ❤️ Big hugs to them all. Much love Susie and Lorna ###

Honey Bee continues to melt my heart! We had a bit of a shaky start today because she preferred to go along like a wheelbarrow! But we got there in the end and she obliged for us. I couldn’t resist a cuddle with this little lady - I might have to nab her as my elf on a shelf!!

Powerhouse Kenzo, the Am XL Bully/Pitbull, is progressing well after his TPLO (cruciate stabilisation). He’s a big loveable lump….challenges my strength! Note to self…must eat more spinach or shreddies. Or both!

For a 10th old puppy Remoh is exceptionally well behaved. Such a good boy in every way. He can now go off lead after weeks recovering from bilateral arthroscopy for FMCP (fragmemted medial coronoid process). He’s so lucky to have Karen as his Mum - he’ll have a wonderful life that’s for sure 🥰

Great day today doing a workshop for learning new massage techniques and refreshing my skills. So proud of Lorna - lots of dogs, small room but she was perfectly behaved. And enjoyed all the fuss. Even converted a lady who was scared of Rotties. Some Lorna spam…..proud Mum!

Lovely Abby is 13yrs young and has several
issues going on. She has osteoarthritis in her toes, hips and stifles, kidney disease and spondylosis. But despite all this she is always happy and wagging her tail when she comes in to see me. I love her positive attitude to life and it’s fair to say I’m very fond of this sweet girlie 😊🐾🥰

Oh my!!! Honeybee is so teeny tiny even the smallest jacket was a little big on her. She has luxating patellas (dislocating kneecaps!) which are being managed holistically, including hydrotherapy. I can’t lie, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything cuter…with such a big personality! 🥰

We’ve had a changing of the guard! Those who’ve followed me a while will remember Homer, who sadly went a year ago. His lovely owner now has Remoh (see how he got his name??) He’s a gorgeous lump of Labrador gorgeousness but unfortunately at 9ths old he has had bilateral elbow arthroscopy surgery. So unlucky. He had his first hydro session this week (Deja vu for Karen Stevens and I!!) and took to it like a duck to water (😂). My bet is Homer sent him…..and is watching over him. 🥰🐾

Proving that Archemedes did actually do some work today. Much straighter now with a way to go but making progress!

Okay, so I won’t be winning The Voice anytime soon but it’s the thought that counts! Archemedes is flying along after his cruciate stabilisation. Here he is tolerating a dreadful rendition on his Birthday! 🤦🏼‍♀️🐾

Kenzo, the Am XL Bully, came in for his first hydro session today. A gentle giant he understood straightaway what to do. He’s had a cruciate ligament stabilisation (TPLO) performed by the brilliant James Copland at Temple End and is sure to make a full recovery.

Lovely Athena has had bilateral elbow arthroscopy surgery. This is her second session and already making steady progress. She wears a muzzle due to her reactivity but I’ve found her to be a total sweetheart 🥰

Took a cheeky day off to ride in Windsor Great Park with a good friend. I rode a super little Spanish horse who took care of the old girl!! Spot of lunch after. Just a perfect day.

Such lovely words from Mia’s owner, Nicole. (as she’s not on FB I’m unable to post this myself in Reviews, so popping it here as a Post) As they’re moving away this was our last session. ☹️

“Hello Susan 🌷 It was so lovely to see you yesterday, thank you so much for the thoughtful card, we’re going to miss you! 💕✨”

“After my rottie, Mia, had surgery on both elbows for elbow dysplasia, I took her for hydrotherapy with Susan at HandsonHounds for rehabilitation. Her recovery was remarkable and after her rehab with Susan she was back to her usual self. When she needed rehab after surgery on her cruciate ligament I knew straight away that we had to go back to HandsOnHounds. Her rehab has come along in leaps and bounds (literally!). Susan is wonderfully personable and professional and her love for what she does (and for her four-legged clients) shines through. Mia adores Susan and loves her hydrotherapy sessions – she can’t wait to get into the tank!”
