With puppies, there’s always a balance to find between making their first groom a calm experience for them, but being able to achieve a good end result. It takes hard work from both us & the owners to get a puppy comfortable with the grooming process, but it’s so worth it in the end! 🐶

🐶 A few staff changes 🐶 We’ve waved goodbye to Erin, our lovely stylist. Erin is off to continue her career with dogs, but working in a rescue helping doggies find new homes, she has brought so much life, fun and stunning haircuts to The Barking Barbers and will be missed lots 💜 We have a new stylist starting next week, Bobbi! Bobbi comes to us from many years experience in dog grooming, she is keen to get her hands on a Westie to style! ✂️ And finally, Tayla has been promoted to a supervisor role! Tayla started in the company as an assistant then trainee, stylist and has moved onto being a supervisor. She has grown with the company and we feel very grateful to have her with us 🐩

Today is an anniversary for Madeleine, 1 year of being a Barking Barber! 🐶 Mads joined us last August as our first ever apprentice, and has absolutely smashed every second of her apprenticeship. Now finished with all of her coursework, she has got one exam to go, which we know she’ll smash. Thank for being a ray of sunshine at work, teaching us all gen z words, putting on distraction shows for the dogs and making us laugh 24/7. We are so grateful for your hard work, and to have you as part of our team 💜

Working with the dogs, not against them 💙 Digby doesn’t like his face being brushed much, but with long human - like hair, it needs to be done. We figured out that a bit of conditioner, and brushing his in the bath means a calmer and more positive experience for him.
