And then there will be a very much shorter, woodland walk with lots of shade and water, still before lunch time.

A few more from this week. As the temperatures are set to rise next week, I will be contacting you with days/times that I may need to reschedule if I do need to! So far, I am moving the walks a bit earlier and have swapped the field to morning instead of afternoon, so we can catch the shade and squeeze a few more dogs into the morning walks.
If I haven’t contacted you, then either nothing has changed for you, or we don’t have a set time for collection so I will collect when necessary.

This kind of play is excellent as it’s both their favourite. However, it has to be done in a controlled manner because my girl Sids is quite a strong character and can easily overdo it, which is why when Bella went to try and initiate play while Sidders and Trev were already playing, I called her to leave it and chill out. Reinforcing that outside is good, outside is safe and outside has treats. I really enjoy our visits with Maze. Maze had to go on solo walks/visits because unfortunately she has experienced some trauma which needed addressing before she goes back to group walks. So we are learning to stay focused on our handler with distractions present (as she is absolutely fabulous in the house but her trauma happened outdoors and with a man present) and she is doing absolutely wonderfully. We had a spot of scentwork too, as a reward for being an excellent girl. ❤️

You don’t need to bully them to get them to do things. Teach them with kindness. And food ❤️

Why be mediocre when you can be excellent?

Recall training on a nervous rescue dog 🥰

Rory is definitely a work in progress, I know he doesn’t come back first time but this is a whole new dog that we have here. Last year he was super anxious, no recall whatsoever and it’s like he didn’t know his name. He was on a lead attached to me for most of his first year with me only letting go of it when I came back from maternity and bought the tracker. With the help of @pawfit_tracker and the ability to use pre-recorded commands, Rory’s recall is coming along nicely, the tracker helps me keep him focused if he is about to stray and as a result he is learning to stay with the group and with me and not run up to strange dogs, which is absolutely amazing, considering he had previously always been a little bit reactive through fear after he was attacked by a big dog before he came to us. Being slowly introduced to other dogs has been a journey for him but he now absolutely loves his group walks and even engages in play! Way to go, Rory!!! 🐶🐶🐶🥳🥳🥳🥳🐾🐾🐾
