Woofies is TEN this month 🔟
10 years, Jesus christ, where did the time actually go!!
Woofies. I remember how we chose this name, in Olivia's kitchen, it was between two names, we put them in a hat and pulled out one as we couldn't decide! 🤣 so Woofies it was. I remember when we started back in 2013 we said 'if we make it to 10 years, we will nearly be 30!!!!' Like 30 is so old 😂 god it was fun being 18.
We want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone that's supported us over the decade 🫶
We've been best friends for 16 years, thank god we have each other, we would have definitely quit if we were doing this solo, so my hat goes off to people doing this by themselves. We may cover different areas, but we stay on the phone practically all day 🤣 remarkable we still have stuff to talk about to be honest! But yeah, friendship keeps this business going for sure.
My advice to anyone starting a dog walking business. Don't hahahahaha, kidding.
Listen to yourself, you'll make amazing choices and some absolute s**t ones.. oh well, that happens, you'll learn a lot from them. Learn to say no, it's absolutely fine not to accept a dog onto your books because you just don't want to, you don't need to explain yourself. This is your business and you can say no to anyone. We learnt this one the hard way, but my god do I say no a lot now 😂 know the general public are always a delight (sense the sarcasm?) Take proper time off!!!!!!! Literally took us 10 years to do this, but burn out is a real thing guys, not just physically but mentally! The best advice though, just try enjoy it, if you don't, you won't last long. I can definitely promise you that. Dogs are awesome, but it's not such a 'dream job' as some may think.. I really don't feel I'm selling it 😅
We want to thank our parents for supporting us and helping us out so much at the begninning, we were super lucky to have that! It doesn't go unnoticed and we've always been so grateful for that early support to really kick start the business. We love them so much ❤️
Also, dog walkers should support each other, so be kind to each other, help each other out, don't be a prick, you know?
To the dogs we've walked over the 10 years, we love you even if you were annoying! 🤪 we won't name the ones that drove us insane, feel that wouldn't be fair hahahaha, but on a serious note, we've always loved animals, particularly dogs and we haven't lost that even after all the rainy, muddy, fox poo, running off, pulling on the leads, smashing into our legs whilst playing filled walks! We've still somehow kept that deep love for these furry friends.
To the one's no longer here, we will never forget you and we love you so much, that goes out to our own boys too, Chip, Alfie, Flash & Ludo 💙🩵💙🩵
Anyway, cheers to 10 years! 🥂🍾 Are we OG dog walkers now?
