Nadia enjoyed a cuddle with 8 week old Darcy when she came in for a vaccination. Sadly we have since bid Nadia a fond farewell as she sets off to study zoology in Manchester. We wish her every success with her future. πŸŽ“

Gus is a very handsome boy who loves attention and isn't afraid to ask for it! He loved his belly rubs when he came in for x-rays on a sore leg. Rest and anti-inflammatories were prescribed so hopefully he'll make a speedy recovery.

A lovely tribute to an amazing dog πŸ’™
In memory of their incredibly courageous and talented boy Jupiter, Iain and Mel Lewis are having 'Search Dog Juniper' added to the side of the Exmouth RNLI Shannon lifeboat - a fitting tribute to a special boy who spent his life helping people. Every time the boat gets called out to save lives, Jupiter's legacy will go with them. RIP 🐾

Kiki came in to see Emily because she has a strange shaped pupil. πŸ‘€
She has been born with an 'iris coloboma' where a section of her iris is missing. It shouldn't affect her except when she's in bright sunlight because she cannot constrict her pupil properly so the light is more intense for her.
Although 'Doggles' exist (sunglasses for dogs), Kiki is far too wiggly for those to be an option!

Studies have shown that rabbits value companionship as much as food. Having a single rabbit can result in them being unhappy and bored. It is recommended that rabbits of the same s*x, or neutered if the opposite s*x are housed together.
Rabbits can be kept indoors or outdoors but in either case, we recommend that they should not be confined for 24 hours a day but allowed to exercise daily. They need enough room to run, jump and stand up on their back legs. The minimum requirement for a pair of rabbits is 2mx0.6mx0.6m with an additional exercise area. Here at Temple End we think the bigger space for your bunnies to run, jump and play the better!
Hop along and make an origami bunny with us! Show us your pics!

RAW's 2024 Better Bunnies Programme!

Did you know that rabbits are the third most popular pet in the UK?
Despite this many are given no companion, unsuitable housing and incorrect diet. The Better Bunnies Programme provided by RAW aims to help owners improve their rabbit's wellbeing. What things do you do to keep your bunny happy? We'd love to hear your great ideas!

Why do we neuter rabbits?
β€’ Neutering allows your rabbits to live safely in pairs or groups which is important for their welfare.
β€’ It prevents life threatening health problems (especially in female rabbits) where uterine tumours are common in unneutered females.
β€’ And of course, it prevents unwanted pregnancies.
Female rabbits can be neutered from around 5 months old and males can be neutered from around 4 months old.
We are happy to be offering free pre-operative checks with a Vet for neutering at our Stokenchurch and Temple End branches throughout the month of July 2024.

Welcome to Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) where we’ll be sharing some fun facts about key welfare issues. The RAW campaign this year is β€˜Healthy Diet, Happy Bunnies!’ Did you know that a rabbit’s diet should be made up of 85% hay and grass? The rest should be 10% greens and vegetables and 5% pellets. This ensures your rabbit stays a nice healthy weight, improves gut health and reduces dental problems.

11 year old 'Blacksmith' came in with a grazed eye which had become slightly infected, probably caused in a cat fight. He was happy to show off his war wound to the ladies on reception, just for a bit of added sympathy.
