Some feline scholars claim the special day has a centuries-old connection to this day back in 1384, when King Richard II of England passed a law that banned the consumption of cats. 🙀 Phew!

A traditional family business

The Kennel Shop is a family run business which was established in 1971 by Douglas and Barbara Graham, whose son Jerry, took the reins in 1979. He continued to run the business with his wife Caroline up until recent years.

As a young girl their daughter Claire had always shown an interest in the business, showing a passion towards selling pet and animal products, in 2002 she began working in the shop alongside her dad and since 2017 she has ran the business assisted by her husband Ryan and her father Jerry.

Ryan and Claire’s children are already showing an interest in the business. At the start of 2018 their son Philip, began helping in the shop in his spare time between school work. He also aspires to succeed his parents one day in the future and continue to run the family business alongside his sisters.
