We would like to wish all of our customers a very Happy Easter and enjoyable bank holiday weekend!

Many of our stores will remain open over the Easter weekend, however almost all stores in England are closed on Easter Sunday (31st March 2024).

As we approach the big day, we would like to wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a bubbly New Year in 2024! We are truly grateful for your continued support and loyalty throughout the year and have some exciting new projects to share with you in 2024.

In fact, 2024 is a landmark year for us, so keep an eye on our website and social media for news and announcements to make sure you don't miss out!

All Maidenhead Aquatics stores will be open over the festive period, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Please note that some may also be closed on New Year's Day, so we'd recommend calling the store you plan to visit before leaving home, as some may also be operating on reduced opening hours. Rest assured, however, that all of our fish and livestock will receive special Christmas feeds and water changes and that we'll ensure they're all well and happy over the holidays.

Good morning everyone!!

I'm not sure how I'm still awake to tell you all the good news!
Quin and I were up into the early hours last night sorting just over half a dozen marine boxes, 2 of which were Australian hard corals 🪸

We're expecting them to start flying out as soon as they go on sale, so don't miss your chance to grab some.
You could buy them as Christmas presents or just a little treat for yourself.

Don't forget we also do gift cards, just incase you don't want to get it wrong 😉.

Fishkeeper Fry is back for 2024 and registration is now open!

This short 8-week programme has been designed to be delivered in the classroom by the schools' own teachers. It uses a series of weekly online instructional films, engaging worksheets, and added-value films, which provide step-by-step lessons about setting up an aquarium, adding fish and looking after those fish day-to-day.

The resources have all been developed to support the National Curriculum and to get children excited about keeping fish and understanding how to look after and care for them responsibly. Participating schools will be provided with their very own free aquarium and all the associated equipment that is used in the programme to enable them to follow along with the films and set up and care for their own aquarium in the classroom – all with the support of the expert fishkeepers based at a Maidenhead Aquatics store near to your school.

We even provide a selection of fish for them to enjoy so that the children see the science of fishkeeping in real life using the mini eco-system they create from water chemistry to how fish eat and the nitrogen cycle.

The Scopas Tang is known from the coral-rich areas of lagoons and seaward reefs to depths of 60m (197ft). Here the adults are often observed grazing on algae in aggregations of around 20 individuals, whereas the juveniles are solitary and stay closer to coral cover. In the confines of the home aquarium, established Tangs can become rather territorial and so must be provided with a generously sized tank.
