Recently we have been having issues with sending emails to G Mail accounts. The issue has been rectified but emails from us may appear in your spam folder, clients can add us to their ‘Safe Sender’ list so that reminders and correspondence from the practice can be received.

☀️ WARM WEATHER ☀️

Here are some of our staff pets enjoying the sunshine and keeping cool!

Please be mindful that it is far too hot to walk your dogs during the day at the moment so walking them very early morning or late evening is best.

The use of cool mats, cool jackets and paddling pools are very popular and are really good ways to keep dogs cool.

Heatstroke can happen very quickly and can be fatal so if you are at all in any doubt please contact the surgery for further advice.

It’s not just dogs we need to be mindful of in the heat - Rabbits and small furries can become very hot in outdoor hutches or enclosures. Ensure plenty of access to shade and fresh water, cool packs can also be placed in with them to keep them cool.

Flies can be a huge problem as well, keep hutches cleaned out daily so they do not attract them, we also advise daily health checks for your rabbits and guineapigs especially around their rear end and tail area as the risk of flystrike can increases during the warmer weather.

Please take care when walking your dogs over the next few days. With the extreme heat of nearly 30°c expected, please avoid walking them between 10am and 4pm. The use of paddling pools for dogs who like water and cool mats or jackets are excellent ways to help keep your dog cool.

☀️ Hot weather = hot pavements!

Avoid walking your dog in the hottest parts of the day, and do the 5-sec before stepping out to make sure the pavement is cool enough.

: Put your palm flat on the tarmac for five seconds, and if it feels too hot for you, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws 🐾

THANK YOU ⭐️

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that came to support our Open Day on Sunday. We had over 300 clients old and new attend who had a chance to have a tour of our new building, we were blown away with the amount of people who came along!

A special thank you goes to Maisey’s Bakery for supplying their delicious tray bakes, they were enjoyed by everyone!

We would also like to thank RSPCA North Somerset Branch for supporting us and running their ‘Preloved stall’ of items, raising important funds for the centre.

Vet Rachel, Receptionist Tania and Beth our Veterinary Care Assistant were also running the tours earlier in the morning but missed the photo opportunity so thank you to them as well.

Thank you so much for all of the lovely feedback and comments, we are glad you love our new premises as much as we do!

EASTER WEEKEND 🐰

The surgery will be closed on Good Friday 18th April and Monday 21st April, we will of course be providing our Out of Hours Service for genuine emergencies.

We will have our usual Saturday morning surgery from 9am- Noon on Saturday 19th April.

Whilst we are packing up our current surgery to move to our new premises, we have outsourced our Out of Hours service to Langford Vets.
