The ‘special dog,’ as Dave calls him, has done it! Off to the Team GB try outs in a couple of weeks. 💩💩ing it doesn’t come close but chuffed for the chance and the experience. In BIG trouble for cancelling our valentines weekend away 😂

🇬🇧 Team GB open showcase 🇬🇧
Today we headed to the showcase with zero expectations except of not making a mockery of ourselves!

With a less then ideal prep with both dogs going lame 2 weeks ago leaving the training plan flying out the window and a teething baby in tow it’s safe to say I wasn’t feeling all that optimistic.

This was a big ask for Pi having only just turned 3 but he worked his little socks off. Two mistakes by me gave us 2 E’s when I didn’t push him for a go round in the jumping then forgot to tell him to weave in the agility 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Buzz as usual hit the ground running with 110% enthusiasm 🤪 which resulted in the call of a tunnel causing him to forget there are 12 weaves and a E in the jumping. The agility course was just up his street and in true full gallop, ear flapping style he only went and won it! 🥹 meaning that he then also won the overall medium competition 🥇

Super proud of my boys today now to just wait and see of we did enough to be invited to the team GB tryouts in a couple of weeks 🤞

Apologies the club page has been a bit quiet recently. The dogs have been having a bit of time off and the club has been closed over Christmas. We are ready to reopen next week with lots of skills and improvements ready for next season. Thank you to everyone who supported the club last year and here is a photo from our Christmas party which all the dogs and humans seems to have a lot of fun 🐾🐶🎄

🏝️After a 6 week break the boys were back in action at Inspire agility today 🏝️

Pi was competing in Grade 5 for the first time so I was expecting a lot of E’s! Just missing a threadle wrap with some poor handling from me in the jumping then getting a nice agility clear with a 4th place 🏅 he topped off the day with a VERY messy (by me!) agility win and ticking off strike one to Grade 6 ✅🍾🎊

With Pi stealing the show over the past few months, today was Buzz’s day to take the limelight 🍋‍🟩 He was a prime example of why I believe it’s so important to give your dogs a period of rest from all agility each year 💤 After struggling with the transition to Grade 6 today I had my old fruit loop high drive Spaniel back 🐶🐾 and he came out the blocks to win not one but two agility classes towards Grade 7 🏆🍻🥳

It was very strange with no baby in tow today but also nice having a few free minutes to watch some runs and play with the new van 👶

Our last show of the summer and a great way to finish off the season.

Pi only had two agility runs today and he smashed them both, flying his way into grade 5 🥳🐾🏆 he has amazed me this season and I can’t wait to see what next year brings.

Buzz has started adjusting to the grade 6 courses getting a faulted jumping win 🏅 only one car crash run with him this weekend then just some faults to add to the mix. Grade 6 has certainly brought us a challenge but it’s been great fun so far and our winter training list is full to the brim.

Another great weekend of agility at Prestbury park.

Pi’s first show at grade 4 and he rose to the challenge amazingly. Winning 3 classes over the weekend and competing in the final on Saturday with just 5 faults in the main ring.

Buzz found the jump up to grade 6 challenge and got eliminated in everything 😂😂 until his last run of the weekend when he put it all together and got a lovely agility clear and finishing in second place.

Our first time at the show and what a great setting and show ground. We will be back next year!

Back home from a very hot and sweaty week at Dogs In Need! It didn’t start well with a 4 hour car journey in 34 degrees and no air con 🥵🥵

Buzz was a complete fruit loop for the week but somehow managed to pull off 3 wins! He also qualified for the finals but clearly that was one step too far for his over excitement as we had a car crash of a run and were eliminated at least 6 times 😂😂

Pi continues to be Mr Consistent and had 3 wins, 1 second and a third. He also qualified for the finals but as they were being held Sunday we missed it to drive home in the cover of darkness on Saturday night and avoid another horrendous car journey 🌚🪭

As both of the boys are in limbo none of their wins count towards grade progression but they have certainly showed that they are both ready for the next level. Me and Lily had a wonderful week catching up with old friends and as usual failing to win at bingo or the quiz 🧐

Another great weekend for the boys this week. Day one of the show and wins for both, taking Buzz to grade 6 and Pi to Grade 4 🥳🥳 Pi is showing some amazing potential spending just 5 and a half weeks at grade 3!

The rest of the week became a training week with lots of Es but the chance to try out some more advanced handling and pushing the boys out their comfort zone 🏃🏻‍♀️🐶🐾 I also forgot about my pizza and nearly burnt the caravan down 🔥🫣

Lily was unwell so we had an early return home on Friday morning after a rough night for us both in the caravan. Fortunately she now seems to be coming out the other side of her cold 🤧🤧

This weekend was certainly worth celebrating 🥳🥳

Kelluki this week for Pi was all about training with him being in Limbo. He decided to show off his training with 5 wins 🥳😆🤯 1 second, 1 5th plus 2 clear rounds 🔥🔥 with the icing on the cake being 100% success rate for weaves and contacts over all 4 days 🐶

Buzz was aiming for his last two agility wins to grade 6, instead we had one jumping win followed by a strong run of eliminations 🤣 he waited until the last day for a jumping win then finally the elusive agility win 🐕🐾

Of course the star of the show was little Lily, making friends wherever she went and cracking out the smiles 🤗 a massive thank you to everyone who helped on Pram watch and baby entertainment it was so lovely to catch up with old friends 🥰 and of course a big thank you to the Kelluki Agility team for as always putting on a brilliant show

A weekend of two halves this week at Thames.
Saturday saw Buzz letting out his wild side with a lot of wide turns and generally a bit all over the place. Then Pi wasn’t feeling well with an upset stomach so we decided to call it a day early and went to the pub for lunch instead!

Sunday saw Pi back to his normal self and to celebrate feeling better he did a cracking agility round and took the win taking him up to grade 3 🥳🥳

Buzz went clear in the Kennel club stakes qualifier, he lost a bit of time with a wide turn so ended up in 12th place. Unlikely to be high enough to get us to the semi finals but good to know he is knocking on the door 🐶🐶

Pi then finished off the weekend by sleeping on the job and taking a little nap in the queue for his last run 😆

A bit late but an update from our week away at Dogs in Need agility show. Unfortunately I had a bad back for the first two days meaning I couldn’t run the dogs but Buzz still had a great time running with my sister. He pulled 2 seconds and a third out the back making the final. Unfortunately a handler error from me got us some faults but it was great to be back in the main ring finals for the second year in a row.
This was Pi’s first ever show and a big ask considering he only learnt to weave a couple of weeks ago. His first couple of runs he missed the weave entry and made some baby mistake but on the second day he caught everyone by surprise. A bit of confidence and he not only went clear but came first against 120 dogs on his third ever competitive run. Then just to show me it wasn’t a fluke he ran another lovely clear and came 4th in his next run. Taking it all in his stride and showing some amazing potential.
Loads of amazing bits to take away from the dogs performances as well as a lot of winter training tasks added to the list!
