We're here to lend a 'helping hand' as six month old Monty found out late last night when he decided to help himself to an onion which are very toxic to dogs. The team carried out the treatment needed and Monty got to go home to bed ❤️

What is it?

We are trying to locate this cats owner following an RTA, we are giving them the treatment they need. They are microchipped but the contact number is not working. This cat was found in warringstown - main street.

This little one has been handed in to us this evening after being hit by a car along the knockmore road, beside supervalu in lisburn. They are not microchipped. Please contact us if you think this is your cat.

While you were sleeping our skilled night team were removing this large broken tip of a wooden skewer from little Rosie at 1am.

From the picture below you'll see the specialised equipment used.

One of our vets Sofie and Head Nurse Joanna were able to retrieve this using an endoscope (an internal camera) with forceps that can go down the middle of the scope itself. They were able to grab the skewer and very carefully pull it up and slowly out of Rosie.

Picture 3 shows a view of our forceps beside the skewer inside Rosies esophagus.

As you can see the broken piece has an extremely sharp end which could have penetrated Rosies esophagus, stomach etc meaning she would have required emergency surgery.

Let’s manage / treat Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

If your cat has been diagnosed with CKD you will be given lots of advise and plans moving forward
This may involve visiting the vet more frequently for regular checks

• Possibility of admission to the veterinary hospital for specific treatment
• Repeat monitoring of bloods, urine and blood pressure
• Medication advised by your vet on a case by case basis
• Increase water intake (adding wet food, extra water bowls, water fountain)
• Specific diet changes which your vet will advise
