Millie is just checking out Santa Pig ,whilst her sister Tess watches some TV!!!

Toys ..... are there any out there that last a bit longer than a few seconds 🀣

Any suggestions welcome......??

They are still hoping someone will fill out a foster or adoption form πŸ™

These lovely girls were sadly surrendered to us due to their elderly owner no longer being able to care for them. They love a fuss from all the volunteers, enjoy their walks and freedom field adventures. They are clean indoors and settle well so can be left for periods of time. They are spayed and fully vaccinated.

Please see their full information and story on our website or send us a message .

Hi everyone, so we showed you all the lovely Tommy in our last post .

Now we are going to reintroduce this fantastic chap!, 4 year old Rauffles, our beyond gorgeous kokoni ... he came to us from Cyprus and has been living with his foster Mummy in Dudley since then.

Here's some of what she has to say about him "Rauffles is just so adorable. Settled in like he's always been here. Already fully house trained, absolutely fine with all the other dogs - although he probably prefers human company so could easily be an only dog. Could live with a very, very dog savvy cat only. He's been to a local sanctuary and was fine meeting the donkeys, goats and sheep. There is absolutely no sign of food aggression, he is fine eating with the other dogs. When he gets excited he can tug on your clothes but this is only play. He has zero issues"

We'd like to point out that Rauffles has 'Queen Anne' legs - it's just how he is. There's nothing wrong with this and we have a vet report to reinforce as such.

βœ”οΈ Happy to live with other dogs or on his own
βœ”οΈ Loves human company
βœ”οΈ House trained
βœ”οΈ Up to date and fully vaccinated
βœ”οΈ Tested negative to leishmania and canine brucellosis
βœ”οΈ Neutered
βœ”οΈ Children over 8 as a guide
βœ”οΈ Very VERY dog savvy cat only
βœ”οΈ The perfect dog!

Please contact us via the link below if you'd like to offer Rauffles his forever home. Thank you

Reintroducing gorgeous cuddle bunny Tommy

He is still looking for his forever home 😒

Tommy craves love & affection and absolutely adores humans. πŸ₯°
He would definitely prefer to be the only dog in the house. Tommy is 3 years old, house trained and currently fostered in Petersfield, Hampshire.

Tommy does become far too excited and vocal when he sees other dogs whilst he is outside on the lead and will need positive reinforcement training for this behaviour. Any potential adopters will need to be prepared to help him with this. Our guideline is that he could live with children aged 10 and over.

βœ”οΈ Fabulous with humans
βœ”οΈ Up do date on all vaccines
βœ”οΈ Tested negative to Leishmania and Canine Brucella
βœ”οΈ House trained
βœ”οΈ Best suited as an only dog
βœ”οΈ No cats
βœ”οΈ Neutered
βœ”οΈ Loves cuddles

If you think you can offer Tommy the type of forever home that he needs, then please click the link below and fill out the form.

Once submitted, a member of our rehoming team will then contact you. Thank you πŸ™

Just a reminder to anyone applying for a dog from us - we are all volunteers in our small charity. We all have other commitments, families, friends, births, deaths and marriages to attend to. Apologies if you don't get the 'service' you think you're entitled to. There are other animal rescue organisations that have salaried staff ... one Chief Executive earned Β£162,217 in 2022 ... so please cut us some slack if you are waiting for a reply from us. We are doing our very best. Thank you

From Street Stray to Star of the Day ... well, of the entire Christmas Season!

Last year little Whirly was found tied up and abandoned ... luckily for him a concerned member of the public alerted the Dog Warden who took him to our friends at Portsmouth Stray Dog Kennels who asked us for a rescue space ... of course we said yes!

Our volunteers Heike and Dan drove to collect him and he was then fostered by Kate and John until Laura Ingall from offered him his golden ticket to live with her gorgeous gang in their multi animal household, where he now has other dogs, cats, ferrets, a parrot and a donkey as his daily friends!

All this has lead to Whirly being the STAR of the McDonalds 2024 Christmas Ad (or should we say Mcdognalds?!) and we at Helping Hounds Dog Rescue are as pleased as Christmas punch!

Huge thanks to all involved ... it just highlights that within rescue it is Teamwork that gets the job done.

Check him out around the 39 second mark!

A GREAT BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Angie, a Co-Founder and the beating heart of Helping Hounds Hampshire Dog Rescue. She is at hand 24/7, 7 days a week to help with dog adoptions, fosterers, surrenders and every single other aspect of dog rescue. The most extraordinary person and all done happily and with a smile on her face. She's gone out time after time rescuing dogs from perilous situations, and certain death, without any beef or bother on her - just head down and gets on with it. Without you Angie there would be no Helping Hounds, we don't know how you do it. You certainly deserve an A* and a Best Actress Oscar for all of your hard work and diplomacy! All our love for a great birthday and wishing you many, many more. We ALL at Helping Hounds salute you xx
