DOG WALKER AND VAN DRIVER ROLE

Our well-renowned, fully insured North Herts-based dog exercise business The Dog Pack is now expanding our staff team at The Dog Pack Day Camp. We offer a flexible service to our client base and reflect this with our staff team as well. Many of our current team have other jobs, undertake voluntary work and have other responsibilities, and staff are encouraged to select shifts according to their availability. So, our positions of Dog Walkers would suit similar people.

We serve Hitchin and all surrounding areas. We walk on weekdays and our PackWalks (currently three per day) usually last 1-1.5 hours. We are looking for PackLeaders (around 4.5 hours per PackWalk including collecting and dropping off PackDogs) and PackAssistants (around 1-1.5 hours per PackWalk). All new staff will begin by assisting on walks before being given the appropriate training to confidently lead a PackWalk.

You must be comfortable working with dogs in a professional capacity and you must be willing to learn how to drive a van.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

-A clean, full driving license
-A confident driver who is comfortable driving a Transit or equivalent sized van
-Experience of/high level of interest in caring for and walking groups of dogs and confident handling all sizes and breeds of dog
-Trustworthy and responsible due to having access to client's homes and tasked with caring for their beloved pets
-High level of initiative
-Good attention to detail to plan and schedule optimum routes to collect and drop-off dogs
-High level of concentration to care for our PackDogs on a PackWalk and anticipate potential dangers to minimise risk to the animals
-A current self-employed status or happy to be self-employed
-A current DBS certificate

In return we offer:

A fully paid Dog First Aid Training course
A fully paid Body Language and Behaviour Training course
Insurance on our vehicles
A starting rate of pay of £9.50 per hour
Fresh air, exercise and canine companionship
There is no current official closing date for applications - we are taking on new staff on a rolling basis at present until we have a complete team to cover the needs of our PackDogs as we continue to expand.
