So proud of this wee chap and his journey back to being comfortable. A combination of owner, me and the vets, have started to transform his world. His skin is so sore in places I hold him with a soft cloth or glove so the heat of my hand doesn’t hurt him, he literally is that sensitive. Allergies to everything.

Puppy groom! Only 6 months old and makes my large bath look like a kitchen sink. Brilliantly behaved young dog, romped through his first groom. Chapeau to his guardians for producing a well adjusted puppy.

Think! Before taking your dog out in the heat. A few shorter walks in the cooler hours is far safer for them than one long walk. Make sure their water is out of the sun. If they have continued access to the outside, make sure they aren’t lying in the sun too long. DO NOT walk them on hot pavements. Add balm to their pads to add moisture and protect them. Being left in a car in the heat is not ok, even for 5 mins

The lovely Cocker has been rescued from a breeding farm, you very know what happened to her, but the fear is real, when you touch her legs and feet! Try sc******ng when the dog can bear the feeling of anything being touched below the elbow or hock!

You got to love a good tail! A couple ponies that I check in on, and even though it was rainy and miserable, I couldn’t resist a ‘ponies in a Buttercup field’ pictures. Final picture is ok an avid bird watcher, she was trying to get into the best position to watch a big fat wood pigeon in the garden, tricky when you’re trying to trim her face.

Plenty of us as lovely this weather, it’s nice to stroll around town, meet friends for outdoor socials, but if you are thinking about taking your dog, think carefully before you do. Ask yourself how long you’re going to be out, is there going to shade, and water available, and most importantly, is the pavement too hot for them to walk on. Prevention, rather than cure, pain and regret. I saw too many dogs out today sitting in full sun without water and shade while their humans ate and drank at leisure. #

🐾KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE THIS EASTER 🐰

Enjoy yourself, but consider your dog as the most obvious Easter hazard is chocolate❗

⚠If you’re planning an egg hunt for the kids, make sure your hiding places are well out of paws’ reach🐾
🍫Chocolate is toxic because the cocoa solids naturally contain theobromine – which doesn’t affect humans, but is poisonous to our four-legged friends. Cocoa powder and high quality dark chocolates, which contain the most cocoa, pose the biggest risk to pets.

⚠️If you think your pet has eaten chocolate, it‘s important to call your vet straight away so they can start treatment before any signs appear.
