XL BULLY OWNERS (AND EXISTING BANNED BREEDS WITH EXEMPT STATUS).

Our facility was granted permission by Anglesey council after a detailed process. Equally we have the relevant insurance and after a fairly difficult few weeks we finally have some clarity after a dialogue with our insurance company.

These rules will apply immediately (but only from 31 December in relation to XL Bullies when they are added to the list of banned breeds).

1. The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate can be provided (technically the deadline for this is 31 January 2024 but if you hope to use a secure field like Zoomies Zone Anglesey my interpretation is you will need to register by 31 December, so need to act quickly.

2. A copy of the dog owners public liability insurance can be provided.

3. The dog handler ratio for exempt dogs is 1:1 with their handler at all times. If your household has more than 1 dog, you can come to the field together, but the banned breed dog must have its own handler and then another member of the same household needs to be present to supervise the other dogs. If there is more than 1 banned breed in the household they can come together but each dog must have its own handler to adhere to the 1:1 rule.

4. The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules. The deadline for neutering is 30 June (and 31 January 2024 for dogs under 1) so I have asked for absolute clarification whether we can accept unneutered dogs between 31 December 2023 and the relevant deadline).

5. The dog is Micro Chipped

6. There is a requirement for dogs to be muzzled in a public place but ONCE IN A SECURE AREA there is NO requirement for a muzzle or lead. We will be insisting customers drive into the enclosed area with the dog(s).

7. Customers must lock themselves in the enclosed area before allowing dogs out of the car. Equally the gate should only be opened to leave once the dog(s) is secure in the car.

It is likely we will be installing CCTV.

We will be amending our Terms of Conditions to reflect the above.

We need to consider the practicalities of this. It may be that we have an off line booking system shared with XL Bully owners who can only book Zoomies Zone once evidence of the relevant conditions has been provided.
