Well its been a busy few months but now we are in the summer and its getting warmer (hopefully) its time to shed those coats .I thought you might enjoy a couple of before and after shots .Barney the Cavachon and Bailey the cockerpoo ,both felt better after getting rid off the long coat !

One of the great things about being a groomer is the variety of dogs that I get to meet on a daily basis .There is the young and the old and the big and the small .Here we have Benson the puppy in for his first groom and Milo an older gentleman in for a good bath and groom - got to love that face !The bigger boys are Ozzie and Ted then you get the lovely little Oscar - small in size but big in personality.

Looks like we've started on the puppy class for 2022 .Meet Alfie the Cavapoo and CoCo who is a cockerpoo .Two puppies that have had their first full grooms and were absolute little stars !

Some dogs just seem to take everything in their stride and these two lovely fellows are a great example of a couple of laid back dogs .First is Jack the cocker poo relaxing after his groom just happy with life and second is Bo ,a happy go lucky spaniel in for a groom but left slightly longer for the chiller months (he is happy just watching my chickens out in the back field whilst he is being pampered )

January always seems to be a time to take a breath and have a look back at the previous year .I thought I would share a look at the Class of 21- the new puppy's that started with their puppy pamper sessions in the year .All so cute and its been a pleasure to see them all grow up .

Well its finally time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year. Alfie is never very keen on wearing his Christmas jumper but I did manage to get him to sit still long enough to get a nice picture of him but straight away he decided that the antlers were better as a toy !

Merry Christmas to everyone ! Its been a really busy time running up to the big day but just thought I would introduce you to a few of the newer faces who have been in .Starting with a lovely older lady Nadia who came in for a bit of a good bath and pamper after having a good roll in something she loved but her owners did not ! Luckily I had just taken delivery of some new shampoo designed to remove the smell and she went home smelling a lot better .(mind you she probably didn't think so )Next is the very handsome Milo an 11month old Cocker spaniel .He was so laid back and has the most amazing long silky ears a real pleasure to groom .Last but not least little Arlow in for his second puppy pamper and doing really well and settling into the routine. Mind you getting a clear picture was hard as he is just pure fun and energy .

Well lets hear it for the Boys this week .All the B,s .Bailey ,Blue and the two Bertie's. The first Bertie is a lovely Cavachon who has been is for a groom and absolutely loves all the attention ,Bertie number two is a Schnauzer who is sporting his winter look and I think still looks just as handsome in his longer coat .Bailey the Cavapoochon has the most amazing coat so soft and thick and last but not least is Blue the Labradoodle.He is still a little nervous but quite enjoyed his bath and dry and will be ready for a full groom after a few more sessions.

Well I cannot end the week without a puppy picture to make everyone smile and this little guy is a real charmer !Meet Ted a Shih Tzu cross Poodle puppy .He was in for a bath and tidy up on his feet and face and took it all in his stride .His main concern was getting back to his family and new best mate Bruno .

Well it has been a busy few weeks and Autumn is defiantly here and the good part it at least it has cooled of a bit which helps a lot to keep the dogs comfortable during the drying of their coats. Some new faces here at smartcuts all absolutely adorable and all full of character .Meet Lotti the springer ,a bit nervous to start but she soon made herself at home ,Leo the little Yorkshire terrier who took it all in his stride, Ozzie the cava poo drop dead cute ,Hugo the cockerpoo - lovely white coat and so handsome and last but not least Poppy the golden doodle just so happy and loving .Great couple of weeks .

Now for someone I have posted before when she was none to impressed with her bath !Luna the Cavapoochon.She has just been in for her first clip and looks amazing .She is so pretty and was a little more impressed with the outcome this time .

Meet a few of the new faces that have been in for a groom in the last couple of weeks .Luna the cockerpoo and her new best friend Serin the cocker spaniel puppy .They are apparently the best of friends and Serin loves nothing more than chasing Luna around and playing with her ears .Then there is Cadi a one year old Collie who has been in for a good bath and brush out .She was really good and quite enjoyed the whole thing .

You have just got to love a terrier .They have such a zest for life and a go get them attitude but also a lovely personality .These two are great examples Ted a Welsh Terrier and Toby a Lakeland Terrier .They are both perfect gentlemen .

Meet the lovely Lotti a labradoodle .She has been coming in for puppy pampers since see was 3 months old and has grown into a beautiful young dog .Being black she is not the easiest to photograph but you can see how much see has grown in 3 months ..

Thought you might like to see two new faces who have been in this week .A bit of the young and the slightly more mature .First is little Luna a Poochon .She has been in for her second pamper session and has had a bath and a little tidy of her face .You have to admit she is really cute .And a little bit older is Peaches a Cocker Spaniel .She is just so happy all the time .A lovely example of the breed .

Thankfully the weather has cooled down a bit and its been a week for taking off those thick coats to keep the guys cool .Some new faces in this week two lovely cocker spaniels Jess and Bryn .Both lovely personalities .Jess seen back at home and Bryn waiting for his pick up .

Now for a bit of a quiz .Anyone recognise the breed of dog in the attached pictures?
I know he is absolutely gorgeous and and so cute .Alfie is a Biewer Terrier .A rare purebred created through the occurrence of a recessive piebald gene in two Yorkshire terriers. He has a lovely nature very playful and friendly .He has just had his second puppy pamper and a tidy up on his face and is back at home enjoying posing for the camera !

I could not finish a week without sharing a puppy picture to make sure everyone is smiling !! Meet Dash a very handsome Cockerpoo puppy who has been in for a puppy pamper session .It was his first time at the groomers and he was an absolute star .Nothing bothered him ,in fact at one time he was laid down just enjoying the warmth of the dryers. He is going to grow up to be quite a character I think .

Continuing on with the Lhasa Apso ,meet Ralfie who is a Lhasa Poo .All that loyalty with a dash of poodle fun ! He is such a gentleman a joy to handle and fun with it .Just waiting to be picked up after his groom . Very much at home .

Today lets hear it for the Lhasa Apso. Originally from Tibet and used as watchdogs in the royal palaces these dogs make extremely loyal ,if a little stubborn family pets .I can vouch for the stubborn after having one for 13 years who had very selective hearing !These two girls though are absolutely gorgeous and such lovely natures .Just been in for a summer clip they were a joy to spend time with .Poppy and Peggy just love being together .

Now for the young and slightly more senior .Sammy is a Westie cross who is in foster care at the moment and has come in for a bit of a pamper .Good bath and a groom and he is looking fab ready for when his owner can take care of him again .An older chap but a real gent and then Oscar the Cavachon puppy in for his second puppy pamper session .He is doing really well and is happy to have his feet and face trimmed now and is now relaxed with the dryer .

This is Barney the Shih Tzu. He is another great example of a dog that's had a second chance at happiness and he is a very cheeky chap .He defiantly makes himself at home ! It is always a pleasure having him in for a groom .
