Last week we said goodbye to Luna and Belladonna who have gone to live a new life in Scotland.

Today we said goodbye to Gonta and Fluffasaurus Rex (we did not choose the name…..!) who have gone to live a new life in Wrexham.

A couple of girls (Peanut and Chicken) are being picked up in a couple of weeks and slowly the baby boom of 2024 is starting to quieten down for us here.

All our kits are off to have wonderful new adventures throughout the country.

An incredibly hard post to write today for us.

We lost our 17 year old boy, Marcus, at 8am this morning.

He’d been slowing down the last few years and when we returned from holiday on Tuesday, I just knew it wasn’t long.

Yesterday he had a run around the room, a raisin (his favourite treat), a sand bath (his favourite thing ever) and a chew of an apple stick (kindly gifted by a good friend, Jackie)

He’s moved with me 6 times, outlived a long term relationship and a chocolate Labrador. He was with me through thick and thin.

I’ll miss you so much Mr Marcus.

Now run free, bathe in sand until you fall asleep, eat as many big juicy raisins as you can handle and check in on us now and again. Your departed wives; Little Miss Marci and Delta will be waiting for you. As will your first born, Marley. I’ve asked Maxwell to keep an eye out for you as well. He used to love to try and herd you up when you’d have a run around. You were the sheep, he was the dog.

Love you today, tomorrow and forever.

Everyone is busy, really don’t understand some people!

I’ve had messages from people today, complete time wasters asking for information about chinchillas, asking how they’re cared for etc…. Asking how long I’ve been breeding for. Asking for loads of advice.

When I ask would they like one.. or two… then comes the kicker in the teeth

“Oh no you’re too far away but we saw your page and it looked like you’d be excellent to get some knowledge from. We have a breeder much closer to us…”

AUDACITY!!!

In 30 years of having chinchillas I’ve never seen a baby that has two colours. White head and a beige body.

It has been a busy couple of months for us here @ Chinchillas4Pets.

We got married on 5th November and had the most amazing Honeymoon in Orlando, Florida for the most part of November/December.

We’re home and we’ve had a lovely little early Christmas present with a new arrival.

We want to wish our friends and their fur babies a Merry Christmas and here’s to a healthy 2023 for us all.

We had 3 kits born the night before we went on a mini break, and 2 kits born on the night we went!
