Welcome to Pocket Alpaca. Based in beautiful Devon we have a herd of 12 Alpaca.
10 breeding females, 2 proven studs which we offer for stud service.

Our first cria was born in June with a second due in a couple of weeks.

Double trouble today! Dot has given us a beautiful white baby boy. He is very handsome like his Sire (Dave)

Eddie (my absolute favourite girl Sshh...) surprised us with her gorgeous boy today. We only realised in the last week that she was pregnant 😳😍

Both sired by Dave.

Welcome little Miss surprise baby number 2!!
The girls wouldn't come in for breakfast this morning, very unusual. So off I go to check on them...I see two little ears in the grass 💚
Cria number 4 has made a surprise entrance to the world. She was dried ( as it was cold and wet, again!) and coated. Very sweet little girl up and about feeding well 🙌

We said farewell to our handsome boy Cedric yesterday. The very lucky boy has gone to live with another herd, and more importantly two male friends! 💙 He now has a hugeeeee field with tree's, dust bath and interesting terrain 😀🙏🙌

He settled straight in last night and all seems well today 😀

We couldn't be more happier for him 💙🙌😀

Funny hair cuts & baby bumps 😍

Very noticeable baby bumps now! Mum's are all doing well, but running out of patience with the babies 🤦‍♀️🤣 The cria haven't quite worked out how to stop once they've got the zoomies👋😳
It's looking like our adorable Eddie is expecting a cria too 😍

Flops is mum and a superstar mum she is. Flops is our biggest girl with a very gentle nature. This little girl is already taller than Tim!

Named after our wonderful volunteer Tim!
Queenie has done it again, a very beautiful baby boy.

The first cria of a potential 6 due this summer.
Indi spotted Queenie in labour and came to get us. An early start ( I am still in my pyjamas)! He was born on the stones bless him. We quickly dried him off and took them back to the paddock.

Another mixed weather weekend 🌬⛅🌧🌤
The girls are very muddy 🙈. They don't really mind the rain they definitely do not like puddles! Quite a few of our girls avoid the muddy puddles at all cost! Even if that means missing out on their tea 🤦‍♀️

The girls have moved to the top for their winter grazing. We can now rest our paddocks 🙌
The cria will come back in December to start weaning, giving their mum's a well deserved rest!

Our final (surprise) unpacking happened late on Wednesday evening. We had a phone call from our wonderful volunteer Tim, telling us he'd found a baby in the paddock! It was a horrible evening. Raining and cold.
We bought mum and baby into the shelter for the night. Baby wrapped in a blanket after being dried off. Baby was cold, wet & shivering ☹ Tim probably saved her life 🙌
Mum was eager to go back out to her herd but the weather was just awful.
Mum and baby joined the rest of the herd the next morning.
Viviene is a first time mum and she is doing a great job 🥰

Today our wonderful girl Ginge unpacked a beautiful baby girl 💖
A good weight of 8.5kg she is bright and feeding well. We managed to capture some of the birth on camera 🤩

The tiny terrors are thriving 🥰. Beautiful little cria absolutely loving life 🙂
All becoming more confident and bouncy 😍
We are giving extra feed at the moment to build up the feeding mums.
Dave & Ron have also been very busy, we are still mating.

Few pics and video's of our gorgeous cria. The Alpaca love a fresh paddock. We try to rest & rotate the paddocks. The rain we've recently had has been most welcome 🙏

Sadly during the week one of our beautiful old Oak Tree's had fallen 😢
Some very strong winds have taken a very big branch down. Thank goodness the tree fell away from the animals and fences.

Our clumsy babies 🤣 They haven't quite got control of those long legs 🥰
The two little one's are beginning to play with the older cria, he's quite a bit bigger and stronger than them so accidentally knocks them over 🙈 Baby 1 gets told off regularly!

Little girl has a name! We've stuck with the Nordic theme and she will be called Torve 💗
Still undecided with the two boys 🙈

We welcomed cria number 3 this morning 🥰
Wonderful mum Molly has given us a beautiful brown GIRL !!! Molly is a second time brilliant mum.
Baby girl weighs in at 6.7kgs. She was up and running almost straight away 😁

It's going to be lovely watching the babies in the paddock 🤩

Our beautiful girl Dot gave birth this morning to a gorgeous boy 💙
She did brilliantly 🙌 baby was up and about in no time! He weighs 6.6kg
( around 14.5 lbs )
We seem to be very good at producing boys!!

Dot is doing very well. She has milk and is standing for baby to feed 🙏😍
Dot and her baby are huming to each other which is also another great sign!

Please meet our newest arrival...a wonderful little boy 💙 Mum and baby (cria) are doing really well. Queenie is a second time mum and a very good one. She has been so attentive and really has been looking out for him.

He is an absolute beauty 😍

✂️Shearing day✂️

On Sunday morning the Alpaca Shearer arrived. All the Alpaca have been sheared! They all look soo different and tiny!! The babies look like little Deer 🦌

The 🌞 was shining in the morning but by the afternoon it was raining 🌧 ☹

We have so much beautiful fleece 💗

We can also now see pregnant bellies 🥰

The girls are HOME 😁

This weekend we moved all the girls back home. With due dates approaching we need to make sure they are safe to give birth.
They were so excited to have their herd completely back together again 🥰

The boys were very playful and extremely happy having more auntie's to watch and annoy through the fence.
The babies are doing well following the bucket 😁

I also get to have my Eddie back 😍 she is just adorable. Such a character, she's cheeky also very naughty 🙈 but we just love her 💕

Second time Dam Queenie is looking very heavy along with Dot. This will be Dot's first cria. We are hoping and praying for safe arrivals 🙏

Three beautiful 9 month old boy's looking for their forever 🏡
Please meet Odin,Ivar & Loki.
They have come from a great bloodline so have the potential to stud.
These 3 are charming, friendly, curious and currently undergoing halter training. Two will feed from hand and they will follow the bucket for food.

The boys are up to date with husbandry have come from a loving home and will require the same 💙
We have all females, so these boys will be priced to sell.

Based in East Devon. Delivery could be possible.

Our babies now have their own paddock!
Time for their wonderful mums to have a well deserved break. Flops, Glen & Ginge have been brilliant mums 💗
The boys are eating hard feed, hay & grass. We will give them time to get used to their new surroundings and then start halter training. They are so inquisitive very gentle and so friendly 😍
Odin & Loki will eat from your hand, Ivar not quite brave enough yet. We'll get there 🙌

The babies are 7months old now. They are SO curious! Odin and Loki both have red paint on their necks. They have been inspecting Dan's paint work 🤭

Very friendly boys, I am really looking forward to halter training 😁🦙
