Walking dogs in this heat I have rules. Plenty of water, shade, slow the pace, recognise the signs and know the dog. No pavement or road pounding, keep your dogs a decent weight and if one struggles then we head back. Panting is a normal part of heat regulation but when a dog is excessively panting, drooling, fatigued and looking wobbly get some tepid water on a towel and lay it over them. Too much cold they can go into shock! Once over heating starts it will cook internal organs. Know the signs, find the right times and seek the streams.
