Working with little Lexi this morning. Her hunt and chase drive has sky rocketed 🚀 since she has hit adolescence and she is loving looking for critters both big 🦌 and small 🐦 🐰 which means we don’t see her much and her recall has gone from 👍🏻 to 👎🏻….
So today we changed the waking environment and showed her it was much more fun to play hunt the toy with us instead. She nailed it and I just love how happy she is. The lap of honour says it all!!!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love zoomies, they really make me smile and Reggie gets them a lot 🤣
Zoomies can be mistaken for excess energy and being crazy which is sometimes true but often they mean more….
Often your pup is over stimulated or over tired or finding it all a bit too much.
Here we have been out walking for 40mins which is too long for Reg at the momwnt as he is not 6 months yet ( I was walking somewhere new and I got a bit lost!🤷♀️) so this zoom is actually Reggie saying
‘I’m knackered, please can we go home?’
(Which we did by the way!)
So, the point of this post is to remind us all…
Keep watching your dog and keep listening to them. They are always trying to talk to us in the only way they know… Behaviour is communication 💙💚
It’s these little micro-moments that are so important for me in guiding puppies and dogs to be the best that they can be…
I’m currently making a birthday cake for Hubby with a noisy mixer and Reggie comes to see what all the racket is about so I give him a treat… why???
✅ he learns to be calm around strange things
✅ he learns that scary noises are actually not scary
✅ he learns that calmness is a good decision
✅ he learns that calmness around food prep in the kitchen pays well
✅ he learns 4 feet on the floor is a great decision
And all I had to do was reach for a treat 😆

Such a fab recall session with Mr Biscuit, he aced it. He also reminded me to book my much needed post covid hair appointment as I was so jealous of his super shiny hair do 😍
