"Who is SJ's Sofa4Sighthounds and do they have a license?"

SJ is Sarah-Jayne, 37, happy to be called Sarah. Fully insured and doggy first aid trained.
I provide home boarding and daycare exclusively for sighthounds. This is not a side job, this is my vocation - there is nothing I would rather be doing. Your dog will love me because I'm gentle, loving, I respect their space and for those who want it, I'm more than happy to snuggle. I meet all their needs with their comfort and safety in mind always.
There are two reasons I am sighthounds only - I grew up with greyhounds, I'm crazy about them and this ensures I am in the company of them most of the time. I am also owned by a 9 year old lurcher (saluki x) and she prefers the company of sighthounds over other breeds.

"Will my dog be comfortable?"
No expense has been spared to ensure even the largest of sighthounds are extremely comfortable. I have kitted out my house upstairs and down, with extra large orthopedic sofa style beds, and raised them off the floor. We also have extra large fluffy donut beds which are also popular.

"Will my dog be safe?"
All dogs remain on a lead for walkies and save their zoomies for my secure back garden. Again, no expense spared - You will notice in my pictures that all guests wear Tractive GPS trackers, so please pack a collar you're happy for them to wear throughout their stay. Our house has CCTV with audio inside and out, smoke and CM alarms all over, and everyone here has the words DOUBLE BARRIER (ensuring there is a double barrier to the outside world at all times) etched into their brain.

"Will I need to fill the car with all their belongings?"
Coat, harness if they have one and food needed. We already have the beds, the raised feeders, bowls, slow feeders, toys etc.

"Will my dog need a trial and what are the booking requirements?"
Your dog will need to have a trial sleepover, this is a license requirement. Payment for the trial is taken upon booking and no refunds given.
Your dog has to be up to date with vaccinations, worm and flea prevention and proof sent.
I take a 50% reservation fee upon booking your dog's stay and the remaining balance 28 days before the booking commencement date. No refunds are given.
I give a discount to multi-dog households.

The Velvet Sofa is now closed as we move with the dogs to Singapore at the end of the month … thank you for trusting us with your hounds over the past 3 years 🥰 We will keep you posted with our adventures 🐾

This poor girls owner has to go into care so sadly cannot look after her anymore 😢

Is anyone able to foster an 11 yr old lurcher for 6-8 weeks over Xmas? Our rescue is full Helping Dogs and Cats Rescue C.I.C and he is at risk of being put to sleep 😢 We are all trying to find somewhere safe for him 🏡 🐾
