Meet Jess 🐾

Jess recently joined Portland vets as a receptionist and patient care assistant (PCA). Before working at Portland Jess worked as an equine groom at various yards with Spanish horses and sales/schooling liveries!

Jess recently graduated from Royal Agricultural university with a BSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy. Jess has a particular interest in rehabilitation in both equine and canine

In Jess’ spare time she likes to ride and compete her horses. 🏆

Meet Amy! 🐾

Amy recently joined Portland Vets Horley as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA). 👏
She graduated from the University of Bristol in 2024 with a BSc in Zoology. 🦁 Before joining the team, Amy gained valuable experience as a receptionist at another veterinary practice.

In Amy's spare she enjoys helping her mum with her thoroughbred mare and volunteering at Drusilla's zoo. She has two cocker spaniels called Trooper and Scout who love to keep her busy! 🌸

🎨 Summer Holiday Art Competition 🌞

We are looking forward to being part of our local community – and this summer, we’re inviting our youngest members to get involved!

Does your child enjoy drawing? We’re looking for creative designs to feature on our Get Well Soon cards, which go home with pets after they’ve been unwell. You can see the lovely designs created by children, for our sister practice on Easter Grinstead for inspiration.

It’s going to be a super hot week! ☀️

We try to share information that can help you make safe decisions for your dog. This chart is a quick and easy way to decide whether the temperature is too high for a safe dog walk.

Let us know what other information you would find helpful in the comments and remember, not every dog you see outside is on a “walk”. Whilst it is helpful to educate each other, some dog owners do not have access to outside space and have to take their dogs on toilet walks.

Let’s be kind and keep that in mind 🐶

Meet Hannah! 🩺

After coming to Portland vets for her university placement she joined the team as a vet in 2022 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice including surgery, diagnostic imaging and consultations with a particular interest in internal medicine. 💊

Outside of work, Hannah loves yoga, travelling, and going on long walks with her family and their two beloved dogs, golden retriever Frank and Labrador Millie. She’s always ready to give the pets at Portland plenty of well-deserved love and attention. 🌸

Meet Sarah 🥰

Sarah works as a Receptionist and a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) so can be taking your call in the morning and looking after your pet in the afternoon in one of our wards. She returned to us recently having worked out of the industry for a while, but she missed working with all our lovely clients and their pets. 🐱

In her spare time she volunteers at a guinea pig rescue and has been for many years. This has led her to take on one or two of these lovely small furries over the years. 🐹 Her fur family also includes 2 lovely ginger cats. Outside of work Sarah also loves spending time with family and friends.
