Student Veterinary Nurse Sarah and Ruby enjoying the sun in their socialisation session a few weeks ago. Ruby has been coming in regularly as she suffers from anxiety when visiting the vets. In these sessions we have been working on administering a fake kennel cough vaccination into her nose which she struggled with at her last booster in March and listening to her heart with a stethoscope. Ruby has been improving in her weekly sessions with the nursing team at Portland Vets and next years booster will be a breeze with all the practice she's getting in!

Sadly a deceased black and white cat was kindly bought in this morning. He is an entire black and white male cat approx 1-5 years old. Found near brighton road, salfords. He is not microchipped.

Sadly another deceased cat has just been bought into the practice. She is a tabby and white, microchipped but the chip is not registered. The accident happened in Lumley Road Horley.

Monkey visited us today for his feline senior check up 🐱

Along with a claw clip, weight check and mobility check Monkey also had his blood pressure checked. He was very obliging and relaxed throughout his visit and enjoyed lots of fuss from his nurse.

Thankfully Monkey’s blood pressure was within normal limits. Did you know 20% of cats over the age of 9 have high blood pressure!

We have been informed of a scammer calling owners of lost cats pretending to be a reprsentitave of Portland Vets and asking them to pay a fee.

We believe the scammer is finding the owners with missing pets via www.pawboost.com

Please be aware and call the surgery directly if you receive any suspicious calls.

URGENT APPLEAL! Please Share.
We have had an Road Traffic Accident brought down to us this afternoon. She is microchipped, however we can't contact the owners. Tabby and White female young cat. Please privately message us directly on here with your number and we will ring you to discuss as our lines are now shut for the weekend and you will be directed to vets now instead of the practice reception.

Sadly a deceased black cat was bought into us today. Found opposite the Cambridge hotel on the A23 Horley. He is all black, entire male, no microchip or collar. Please do contact the practice if you think he may belong to you.

Sadly we have had a deceased all white, male, neutered cat brought into us this morning, who looks quite young. No microchip and found in Ironsbottom, Lodge Court.

Sadly a deceased entire male black cat has been bought into the practice. He has a white bib, with a small white spot between his front legs. Very large cat. He was found on the Balcombe Road Horley near Fernhill Road.
