Did you know black cats are often overlooked in adoption settings, despite being just as loving and playful as any other cat?

Fun fact - In many cultures, black cats are seen as symbols of good luck! For example, in Japan they're thought to bring prosperity and in Scotland spotting one on your doorstep is believed to mean good fortune is on its way! ✨✨

This years World Rabies Day theme is "Act now: You, Me, Community". 🌍

Each year, on September 28, the world unites to raise awareness and take action for rabies elimination. World Rabies Day (WRD) 2024 was the most successful yet.

Can we make 2025 even bigger?

In 2025, we are calling on you, me, and our communities to take responsibility, work together, and drive real change. For the first time in its 19-year history, WRD’s theme does not include the word “rabies”, showing how well-established this movement has become. Whether you are an individual, part of an organization, or a decision-maker, the time to act is today. 💊

National Cat & Dog Gut Health Awareness Day (Sept 21) 🦠🐾💊

STRAY DOG FOUND❗️❗️🐶

We have had a male dog found in Westvale, Horley.
He is not neutered and unfortunately does not have a microchip. Hes also wearing a black collar with no tag.
If you think he might be your dog please call on 01293 782684 and email a photograph of him to [email protected], so we can reunite him with the right owner.
We can keep him here at Horley until this evening, but he will be transfered to the dog warden if no owner comes forward.

What is the best way to stop your pet from interfering with their surgical site post operatively? 🐾💊

After procedures, its normal for pets to feel sore or a little itchy as they begin to heal and hair begins to regrow! Did you know, that one of the greatest risks to your pets recovery is patient interference? This happens when pets lick or scratch at stitches or wounds and this can cause:
- Delayed healing
- Infection
- Wound Breakdown, which may require further treatment. 🫣

Depending on the surgery, medical pet shirts like the one beautiful Maisie is wearing is normally the least stressful and easiest ways to keep our pets from licking and chewing! Otherwise, your lovely companion may go home with a cone or a boot! They may look a little funny, but they are a vital tool in keeping your pet safe and comfortable on their road to recovery! 🥰

How cute is Frankie! 🐱
This little cutie came in last week to have for a mani and pedi with one of the nurses. Frankie doesn't particually like having her nails done, but with sweet nothings whispered to her from the nursing team about how brave she is and some bribery from mum and dad, she did just great! 🌸
We can't wait to see you back Frankie!

Today we celebrate all the fiery, fabulous felines with the bright personalities (and coats to match!). Whether they are mischievous, cuddly or a little bit cheeky they always find a way to steal our hearts. 🐱
