A fellow groomer/breeder has kindly shared videos of her beautiful 3 week old poodle puppies with me 😍 It is SO important to introduce puppies to positive grooming experiences from a very early age. Finding a breeder who has introduced brushes, dryers and water from birth is a great start - any GOOD breeder will be doing this! Once vaccinated (normally from 12 weeks) ensure your puppy is then meeting their new groomer to carry on this desensitisation during this short socialisation window. Unfortunately, most puppy enquires are from 6 months old and this can be a difficult teenage stage to start the process from. Dogs can easily become fearful if not introduced at a younger age and therefore grooming becomes extremely stressful for all. Just look how 3 week old 'Daiquiri' is enjoying the blow dryer on his face, this pup will soon be bounding into the grooming salon for his groom and falling asleep on the table, guaranteed ☺️ Start them young to ensure a life long love of grooming 😍

I always scissor finish to give that ultra definition 🤩✂️ As grooming equipment has evolved other the years, with clippers and comb attachments now available for pet grooming, scissorring skills are being lost! I recently attended a grooming seminar,where there was such enthasis on bringing back these ✂️ skills to everyday pet grooming. YES it takes much longer, it makes your hands hurt too, but you cannot cut corners in achieving a beautiful groom 😍 ( It's actually really difficult to film and ✂️ at the same time 😅)

Styling Cockapoo's is my PASSION! 😍 The beautiful model 'Dexter' in for his 6 weekly appointment. Not a single knot in his coat ( well done mum & dad 🤗) Groom consisted of: 🐾 Playtime whilst the bath warmed up ✅ 🐾 1 prewash shampoo followed by two washes of Rose essential oil shampoo ✅ 🐾 A 10 minute conditioning treatment to help hydrate the skin and his combination coat ✅ 🐾 Towel dry followed by zoomies because bathing is fun 😄 🐾 Dry hair till 90% complete✅ 🐾 Switch to blow dryer to create ultimate FLUFF✅ 🐾Brush to stretch the hair out for an even cut✅ 🐾 Nail trim and ear clean ✅ 🐾 Clip off hair to desired length ✅ 🐾 Scissor style to perfect the 'Teddy Trim' ✅ 🐾 Cologne spritz, valentine's bow tie and photo✅ 🐾 Treats, cuddles and kisses 😍 I feel so privileged that customers as far as Sleaford are traveling for cockapoo styling 🤩 Excuse my doggy voice 🙈 #cockapoo #cockerpoo #poodlemix

Country Paws now has a very limited amount of new grooming spaces to offer for small - medium sized dogs 🐶 Over the past year, we have had to say goodbye to some of most cherished members of the Country Paws gang 💔 Those who have sadly made their way over the rainbow bridge 🌈😞 as well as woofers having to relocate with their humans🏡 I've wanted to wait till the new year before reopening my books to a small number of new furry faces 🐕As a reminder, I still only work one to one within a private, pre booked appointment only. I'll be contacting those already on my waiting list first and then will be going from there 🐾

It's not uncommon for vets to give sedatives for anxious dogs for grooming 💊Storm's mummy thought this was her only hope for a haircut until we met a few months ago 🐾 Storm's second visit and the key is definitely cuddles! If I'm not touching him at all times he is like a tornado! 🌪️ He was even calm enough to take some tasty treats off me this time! It just takes time, calmness and patience ☺️
