It’s here!! The first anti spiking bolt on course is finally booked in from the 7th-9th October 2024.

Due to the high demand by clients, and the only private company in the UK to provide this capability we are now offering training to external handlers who are already qualified in the passive detection discipline to attend a 3 day bolt on course in Hull, Eat Yorkshire.

A Great Partnership has been formed between the two companies!! Exciting times ahead!!

We recently introduced you to Woody, one of our K9 detection dogs, now it’s time to introduce you to the person who’s been training him, Wayne Gell, who has joined SAFECROWDS as our Head of Canine Training and Operations.

A former British Army dog handler with 11 years’ experience, including three operational tours of Afghanistan as an detection dog handler, Wayne has been an instructor and trainer for the arms explosive search courses at the Defence Animal Training Regiment. Alongside his role at SAFECROWDS, he is also a NASDU trainer with Inter K9 Limited, the first UK private company to train drug detection dogs on date r**e substances seeing them on deployments throughout the UK.

Wayne’s remit at SAFECROWDS includes overseeing our K9 training and operations, ensuring that our dog handling teams for GP, expo, pyro and drugs remain up to date with all their continuation training, and overseeing their performance on the ground.

Inter K9 Ltd were the first to train drug detection dogs to indicate on date-r**e drugs, which is a massive step forward in the fight against sexual attacks. Wayne will continue to ensure that all our dogs are trained using real scents ensuring they are equipped to detect real world threats.

Many of you are already aware of our special project, for the past 2.5 years we have been researching and developing a capability to tackle the spiking issue within the UK night life scene and we now have multiple date r**e detection dog teams all over the UK that have been patrolling the streets/night-life bars and clubs with local authorities and it’s been extremely successful!! (So successful that we have a news channel coming to make a documentary on it. 😊👍😉)

We have multi teams located around the UK and here is ‘TED’ who has now started his first stage of training within the date r**e capability in order to become part of the larger team that we already have to fight against spiking!!
