I am now offering a**l gland expression in my salon. This is done externally (not internally which is how the vets insist on doing things). This is much more comfortable for the dogs.
If you have dogs, like I have who cant express their a**l glands normally, please get them booked in. If your dogs are scooting their bottoms along the floor...biting and chewing their back end or leaking a**l gland fluid (this has a rancid fishy smell and very very potent) please contact me for an appt. Takes littlerally a few mins.

Due to the absolute ferocity of this heatwave I am not offering any daytime appointments for dog grooming..under the welfare act its just not safe to be grooming dogs in this heat..let alone transporting them to and from....i am happy to offer evening appointments once temp has dropped. Appointments available just drop me a message and Ill see what I can sort out for you and your gorgeous 🐶pups.

Lovely little 11 month old Rosie in for a little trim bath and blow-dry...only her 3rd ever groom bless her...she did very well considering she hates the drier and her face being brushed/trimmed/washed or dried...love a challenge 😊😊....when dogs like rosie come to me i prefer not to stress them out by continuing to do something they are really not comfortable or happy with...it takes time for dogs to get used to being groomed. .which is why I always advise anyone with a puppy...get them desensitised straight away...work with them at home with gentle brushing, combing, noise of the hair dryer etc....puppy intro sessions after a dogs 2nd vaccinations are a definite MUST ❤❤❤...
I do offer puppy intros for anyone with a new puppy..please contact me for further info or to book

Update on the EMMI-PET TEETH CLEANING SERVICE…..
Kit is currently on order has been slightly delayed.
I will be taking bookings from 2nd week in November for this service.

More amazing results from the Emmi-Pet dental treatment..
This was after one treatment for this particular dog...
This is something however that does need to be maintained with regular visits...
This is a non invasive dental treatment for your dogs.
The toothbrush is silent and doesn't vibrate like a normal toothbrush.
The brush is held on the teeth for 30 to 60 seconds.
Obviously some dogs will need more treatments than others depending on the state of their teeth and the stubbornness of the plaque and tartar.
No sedation needed
A lot less stressful than a vet dental procedure and cheaper..

Matting!

I am seeing lots of dogs coming in for grooming that are matted to the skin. Please understand that as a professional dog grooming stylist it isn't my job to de-matt your dog. Legally I can only de-matt your dogs coat for 10 minutes before we are in breach of the Animal Welfare Act.

Of course we understand dogs get knots and tangles which we will remove as part of the groom, however I have recently seen an increase in severely matted dogs.

If your pooch comes to me matted I will now automatically clip it short.

Please understand that when your dog is matted it is pulling constantly on the skin, therefore little nicks, grazes and sores are most likely to happen during the process of clipping off the coat.

Please don't hesitate to ask me for any tips and advice when grooming your pooches at home in between their appointments 😊😊🥰🥰🐶🐶🐾🐾

The importance of brushing your dog

We all know how hard it can be to keep on top of brushing your dog, but making it a daily occurrence does help.

If your dog doesn’t like it, you need to help them see that it’s not a bad thing to have done.

- Start slowly let them sniff the brush and then treat them
- Brush a part of their coat that isn’t knotty and then treat them.
- Build up the amount of time and different areas.
- Brush them in the evening when they’ve been walked and are settling down to relax. They’ll be tired and less inclined to resist.

Your daily 5 mins of brushing might turn into something they enjoy and is an amazing bonding experience between you and your pooch.

It also helps us dog groomers out greatly as we only see your dogs 6-8 times a year. Their experience with us is a lot better as we don’t have to either comb through knotty fur or clip close to their skin to get rid of the matts.

A little bit about me.....for those who dont know me personally...and the story of how the business came about....

'Ozzie' s Cutz 4 Muttz is named after my own beloved English Springer Spaniel whom I had the best 11 yrs of my life with. Sadly Ozzie passed over the rainbow bridge in Aug 2021 and is missed dearly. So I wanted to honour his memory in naming my business after him.

Having been a dog lover all my life and been around dogs and all animals all my life, working with animals has always been a dream career for me to pursue. I have worked with horses, dog walking and looked after peoples pets whilst they are away. I finally took the plunge and enrolled onto the City and Guilds Dog Grooming Level 2 course at Brinsbury where I successfully passed with flying colours, I am studying my level 3 in September 2021 which I am really looking forward to. I have been around dogs all my life and Ozzie was my first EVER dog, he joined me at 8wks old. I have fostered a fair few doggies, and I adopted my two boys Jackson and Alf from Spain, both are spaniels and both completely bonkers 🤣.

I am truly passionate about dogs, am very experienced in handling a variety of different breeds, sizes and temperaments, am calm with my approach, gentle and patient. Your dogs welfare is the most important thing to me and assuring they are happy.

I know your dog will be nervous, so:

• I only ever have one dog in at any one time, unlike most other groomers who may have 3 or 4.
• I do not use cages
• I never use drying cabinets, everything is done by hand.
• I groom dogs of all sizes (until I have my salon in the garden erected I am working from home so giant and very large breeds I am unable to take on at present).
• I am canine first aid trained and fully insured.
