Happy New Year to all of our wonderful clients and your hoomans!!!

We have had a brilliant Christmas with the boys, Jess and our lovely family around us.

Thank you all so very much for our lovely cards and gifts and thank you from Jess and the boys for their thoughtful gifts too.

We feel completely spoiled again this year by your kindness. It is very much appreciated.

A big thank you to our clients old and new for supporting our little family business again in 2024.

We had an eventful year with lots of health problems for me (as usual 🙄) and a long-awaited operation for Tom which he has recovered from so well it’s quite unbelievable.

Here’s to ‘Team Bravery’ in 2025 and our 8th year working together to care for your animals and walk your dogs.

We look forward to the adventures 2025 holds for us.

He’s back!!!…No, not Voldemort, Tom.

We’re at close of play on day two of Tom’s return to the fore and he’s feeling fantastic.

I am so pleased for him that the operation and his hard work on a swift recovery has gone well.

His physio has said Tom is well ahead of where he should be in the recovery process which is great.

The only issue he’s found so far is uneven ground so he’s trying to stick to well trodden paths until he’s a bit further along in his recovery.

All walks, if not already back this week, will be back to normal Monday.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support over what has been a particularly tough few months. We appreciate you all very much.

Grit and Salt on Icy Paths

Southwater has been gritted and salted brilliantly for us clumsy hoomans but it’s not so great for our dogs (and cats).

Try to avoid them walking through the grit/salt if you can as it can cause burns to their paws. Most of the areas I’ve seen so far this morning have grassed verges nearby which is great but Lintot Square is a bit of a minefield.

Wash your dogs feet with warm water when you get home. It really helps.

Beautiful blue skies and sunshine, really chilly and gusts of wind that make the dried fallen leaves into leafy eddies.

*TOM UPDATE*

Tom is doing brilliantly!!!

He’s not using the crutches at all and has managed to bend his leg to 120 degrees at physio this week.

With the brace and a tube bandage on for support he can walk short distances and has even been on the Southwater Scarecrow Trail this week with little James.

When Tom first came home from hospital we honestly didn’t think he’d be in this position by now.

He’s confident he’ll be able to do some short easy walks from the middle of the month to get his leg working a bit harder ready for December 1st. Woo hoo!! 👏🏼

I had the absolute pleasure of looking after these two gorgeous dogs again twice in September while their owners were away on well deserved holidays.

I always look forward to seeing them both and their cat sister.

They are high maintenance pups with their dietary, medical and exercise requirements but l love that I’m trusted with all of that responsibility by owners who clearly adore their dogs.

It means a lot to me and the reputation of our business has been built on the work we do just like this ❤️

The last couple of weeks have been really Autumnal. I’m hoping for a less rainy October 🤞🏻 I love this time of year.

There are however, lots of seasonal dangers for dogs when you’re out and about.

Tom and I share our helpful info-graphic 🤓 every year to draw attention to some of the flora and fauna about through this quarter of the year.

UPDATE ON TOM

The first two weeks following Tom’s operation haven’t gone anything like Tom was expecting. I think the change in type of op and where grafts were taken from has meant the post-op pain/recovery has been significantly worse than either of us expected.

We’ve decided that in order to manage Tom’s own expectations as well as clients that he will be off work (the walking bit) until 1st December.

That will give him time to attend some physio appointments and build up the strength needed to walk the stronger and more specialist dogs that we have.

I’ll carry on covering as much as I can but clearly it’s not ‘business as usual’ with Tom out of the picture so please be patient with me lol!

If there are any clients that Tom has ALREADY contacted to cancel walks needing cover until 1st December please drop a message on the work page and we’ll put you in touch with an appropriate dog walker that we think will be suited to your needs.

Apologies for the disruption to our usually very smooth operation.

We took Tom out for the first time in two weeks for a family lunch in Shere at the weekend. He had a great time getting out of the house. The change of scenery definitely helped his mental state if not his leg lol!

She’s been so needy since he’s been home Tuesday. She won’t leave him alone for a second…he can’t even tighten his leg brace without her needing attention 😂😂😂

An interesting week with lots of different animals to care for.

I enjoyed covering some of Tom’s usual clients.

I can’t cover them all as he walks some very large and strong dogs that I simply can’t handle. He loves that area of dog walking. I guess if I was 6 foot tall and built like an out-house I’d give it a go too 😂

TOM 🤕

The kids and I took Tom to ESH this morning for 7am ready for his ACL operation today.

He was in good spirits when we left him and will hopefully be home this evening.

I think he’s secretly looking forward to two weeks rest to be honest 😂

In the mean time, I will be covering as much of Tom’s work as I can manage; with only a few exceptions that I definitely couldn’t manage due to my own health issues 🙄

Honestly!! What a pair we are lol!

Thank you to those who have passed on good wishes to Tom by message or in person. It means the world to him that you care so much.

Tom definitely won’t be picking up work messages today so please use the work Messenger or text me if you need anything at all.
