Hey all!

My lovely Ember came home from the hospital last Friday and is doing brilliantly on her treatment so far! The swelling in her stomach has gone down completely, her appetite is great and she’s back to bringing us her feather sticks and demanding playtime!

Thank you all so so much for your well wishes when she was in hospital and especially to those who have messaged checking up on her! She’s such a special little girl and brings us so much joy every day, she still has many weeks of treatment left but I couldn’t be happier for my little girl 🥰🥰

Hey everyone.

So the night before last I had my own cat Ember at the vet for a check up as we noticed her stomach looking really swollen. They’ve ran every test imaginable and are almost certain she has FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which is a mutated form of the feline coronavirus (but completely different to Covid-19).

Until recently this was a death sentence. But because of the pandemic there was a ton of research into anti-viral medicine for coronaviruses as a whole and there’s now an anti-viral treatment with an 80% success rate in curing FIP.

She’s in the vet hospital now, she was admitted there last night. She’s still honestly perfectly fine in herself, if her stomach was so swollen (she went from a normal body to looking heavily pregnant in a few days) we wouldn’t even really think something was up but they wanted her admitting for close monitoring and running every test under the sun.

She’s been started on the anti-viral medicine via IV and they’ve ordered the tablets for her to have when she’s discharged. She will have to take them twice a day for 3 months so we just have to hope and pray that she responds to the treatment.

If I’m less responsive to messages than usual this is why. I don’t anticipate it affecting my service in any way.

Precious Percy recently crossed the rainbow bridge and I am deeply saddened that I won’t get to visit him again 😿 He was a really sweet and friendly boy and loved a fuss. My thoughts are with his wonderful mama, rest easy little man 😿🐈‍⬛🐾

I was heartbroken to hear that sweet Reggie passed away. Reggie was such a wonderful old boy with such a gentle nature, he really was special to me. I’ll miss visiting him, rest easy little man 😿💙🐾
