This is Rosie ( 18 months old ) who is staying at the Cat Hotel ATM. She arrived on Thursday. Rosie has never been left before. Apparently, she’s shy and a loner with strangers… as often happens, cats make their owners look as if they’ve just made it up, as you can see from the photographs 😂 ❤️
We are having a lovely time playing with all of her toys and she is obsessed especially with my butterfly toy.
I’ve seen more of her tummy than any other part of her! She loves nothing more than rolling around having a fuss. Now I just want her Mam to have as happy a holiday as Rosie is having ❤️😻
We’ve had so many amazing guests over the last few months I don’t know where to start..or didn’t. Then I remembered a lovely owner saying to me she couldn’t wait to see the photographs of her furry family on here. I’d like to give a special mention to their three legged cat Ziggy, whom I sadly never got the chance to care for, but who from the stories I’ve been told, was one in a million. These people love cats like I do and to see how much they not only love the three you are about to meet, but their love for Ziggy. It is truly unconditional and the best kind of love of all ❤️
Rio, the dark seal point Ragdoll , and Oliver the blue point Ragdoll are back on holiday with us. They have a two week stay no the Playroom. They are so loving and love human company and very playful. I’ve made them an extra big tunnel system for them 😻😻❤️

I’m back after a break from my business page. I’ve missed sharing photographs and stories from all of the guests who have stayed. I will try and post some for you to awwwww at 💕
However this post is an urgent request to anyone who has a spare room for a short stay for four cats who were in a massive house fire yesterday.
Sadly one of their cats died 😢If you can help please do. It couldn’t be a worse time for it to happen as all of the cat hotels and catteries are full. They are currently being kept in a bathroom 😞

“To try let everyone know since it’s complete chaos - we’ve had a massive house fire .
Jayden and Lucas were in the house at the time. Jayden is now in Sunderland royal due to high levels of carbon monoxide .
One of our cats has died in the fire, I have 4 I desperately need a room for them to stay temporarily if anyone can help .
Our downstairs and stairs are completely destroyed .
Upstairs is smoke damaged “
Since 10th June 2024 cats over 20 weeks old must be microchipped and registered on a compliant database. This includes cats that usually only stay indoors.
You will be fined if you do not do this, so please share widely.

Harry still hasn’t got a home. I’m devastated for him. Please, please if you can, give this gentle, loving, so grateful to be rescued from a life on the streets cat~ a forever home. The charity found him somewhere only for the person to give him back two days later as she wasn’t over the loss of her last cat and kept crying…he hadn’t done a thing wrong. He’s just so lovely.
I want to take him so much but I can’t because I have the cat hotel and my two cats (plus Snowball a lot).

I just thought I’d do an update to explain as to why I’m quiet.
I’ve got/had a lung infection on and off for some time now ( there seems to be a lot about ) and because (gratefully) a post can create lots of phone calls and I really need to rest my voice. I have at times sounded like Barry White or Frank Bruno. I think new owners may have been rather surprised and thought I’d changed s*x when I answered the phone with “Katie speaking, how can I help?” I really need to rest my voice 🙈
Also I feel like I’m turning into a parrot, repeating myself and we already have our parrot Fern 🦜❤️😂
I’ll write what I say here and hope it helps ❤️

I was taking calls at 8pm and 11pm on consecutive nights last week and am often doing emails very late at night.
I realise I must have some time to switch off from the admin side of the hotel and (also keep my husband sweet as he’s so tolerant already, bless him 🥰)
Now I can’t go without posting a few photographs of Lunacorn in the deluxe suite, she just left at the weekend after around 18 days and is such a big miss, she is a huge character 😊🥰❤️
I’m not going to be getting much done today if our guests Toby ( the tabby ) and Ralph have anything to do with it. They are just the most loving cats you could imagine ❤️😻❤️😻
The best way to start a day at the hotel. Cuddles with Milo in the Deluxe suite. It has a double bed which comes in handy for both the four legged and two legged! Milo looks like a bigger version of Pepsi in the Playroom and is just as sweet 🥰 ❤️
To say Pepsi is a character is a bit of an understatement! She’s so loving but so much fun too. She loves company and has a loud meow to tell me she’s not finished playing! She leaves on Tuesday after a 10 day stay and I just love her. I have a mischievous streak, so I think I see myself in her! 😂🥰😻❤️
Chianti has been so shy - but patience has paid off and tonight she has played. It’s the most rewarding feeling and always makes me feel honoured! Cats really make you earn their trust. I think they have so much self esteem! ❤️🥰😻
Meet two of my most shy guests Morse, ginger and white and his sister Chianti, both exotic Persians.
This has been their first ever stay away and Chianti is a rescue, so it’s been a huge thing for them.
I just wanted to cradle them straight away and tell them it’s all ok, but you have to be so gentle, patient and go at their speed.
Morse reminds me of Bagpuss 🥰 He used to be a very confident cat until a child tried to gauge his eyes out with his fingers and since then he’s been very nervy, understandably 😢😢
They are such characters whose faces just make me squishy. They are still shy during the day, Chianti more than Morse surprisingly, but as soon as it starts to get dark their confidence grows. 🥰❤️😻😻
And life goes on at the Cat Hotel…
🥰 Arthur is back at the cat hotel!!
Arthur does not do mornings. He loves the cat tree box - as you can see in the photographs. He will pop his head out of the top for strokes and fuss or get up for a graze ( but really prefers if you carry his food to him if possible 🙈😂)
It’s probably because he’s a little night owl. He rises at teatime and then becomes fun time Frankie 😂
He’s quite the adventurer during the night too. I love my night vision camera. I can see all of the cats antics !
Arthur leaves soon, after a lovely week. I hope we have the pleasure of this calm, placid by day / little monkey by night, cats company again, very soon ❤️😻

Honey the Egyptian Mau had to cross the rainbow bridge on Tuesday 9th April. Honey was 16 years young, due to turn 17 in August.
I adored her and her sister Sophie the Siamese, who passed away last year ❤️❤️
Honey was a stunning little live wire, playful and loving in equal measure. I had her booked in for a holiday later this year, and a few for next year too. I’m so sorry that I wont get to see her beautiful face again 😢
They were blessed with one of the most devoted cat owners I have had the pleasure of meeting. Both Honey and Sophie had multiple health problems at the end of their long lives and needed a lot of medication. Their Mam was unfaltering in her care for them.
❤️I’m sure you all join me in sending our love and condolences to her.

Hanging out at the Cat Hotel is the lovely Leo! Now he does have a resting grumpy face sometimes but he’s a sweetie really! Once you gain his trust (and it takes patience, just as it should!) he repays you with the pleasure of his lovely company (which he demands by meowing rather loudly 😂🥰)
Leo is the cat who made me cry when he had a p**p ! The first time he stayed, his lovely mam was so worried about leaving him, he was very nervy. I was so worried he wasn’t going to go to the toilet that when he did, I shed a tear or two!! 🙈🥲❤️

HARRY IS STILL AVAILABLE 💔💔
Now we know we’ve had many questions about Harry. He was first placed in what we’d hoped would be his forever home 💘 (in fact he is still in foster there now with Angie who loves him to bits- he has his own room!) BUT the resident cat Freddie does not want a new cat in the house, which is fair enough we all know how tom cats can be. So, when we got Harry’s diagnosis it was determined that he would need another home, not because of him but just to be extra careful.
Now, Harry is absolutely soft. He is chilled out, happy to be here after years on the streets and just generally enjoying his life now. Harry can live with other FIV- cats BUT they must be friendly with other cats and Harry must be kept indoors, no ifs no buts. If an adopter was prepared to do proper and slow intro and was well versed in the transmission of FIV and was confident in their existing cats being friendly with Harry, we’d be open to talk about adopting him.
Ideally he’d like a home on his own or with another FIV cat. This isn’t because FIV is some big scary thing to write a cat off for but it is just to mitigate risk. Deliverance have kindly shared some facts about FIV;
FACT ✅ FIV affects somewhere between 2-5% of the cat population, the highest incidence is in stray & feral unneutered tomcats who have to fight for food, territory and females.
FACT ✅ FIV positive cats can live a long as FIV negative cats, it is a slow acting virus so with good diet & care your cat will remain healthy for many years.
FACT ✅ FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. This can be when fighting or occasionally during mating when the male grips the female’s neck.
MYTH ❌ FIV can be passed to humans or other pets such as dogs.
MYTH ❌ FIV can be caught by sharing water bowls or cats grooming each other, the virus cannot live long outside the body.
MYTH ❌ We can’t do anything to prevent FIV. This is so untrue, the easy answer is neuter your cats! And of course do not abandon your cats.
Harry is approx 6 and has his whole life ahead of him. He’s safe where he is but it’s time for his own home now. Come on guys, share this post please!

Anduin is in the house… well hotel! One of our special, Easter guests, he is incredibly still not a year old. He is going to be a big boy when he’s fully grown. All of his colours are coming through now. He was mainly creamy white when he was here only months ago. He may be bigger, but he is just as gorgeous ❤️

My three beautiful tabbies last day in the Playroom ❤️
It’s Beans, Nala and Pheobie’s last night tonight after their first stay at the cat hotel. Three beautiful tabby cats 🥰😻😻😻
I was a tad nervous as Beans hadn’t eaten when he’d stayed in a cattery but he’s been a total star, they all have.
Pheobie came with a warning! She could be very hissy and swipey but she had been rescued and it was just her way. The first two days that was spot on! However I haven’t been hissed at or swiped at for the last 5 days. She seems to love the calm of the cat hotel and has really chilled out. Her devoted mummy is hopefully going to be very happy.
Then there is Nala who is so loving and has been full of fun, playing at every opportunity, along with Pheobie and Beans. They are my first cats who have loved playing catch the bubbles!
Nala and Beans are outdoor cats but they haven’t even scratched at the door once. It’s not always this easy but they really have been an absolute pleasure to care for 🥰😻😻😻❤️
Lavender the beautiful Siberian has been on her holidays with us again 😻🥰 She’s only 15 months old and will be fully matured at 5 years old!
There’s something so calm about her, she has a lovely energy. A perfect mix of loving and playful.
It’s rare a cat leaves without their owner having a shopping list of things they want to get for their fur babies when they get home. For Lavender it’s a tunnel! She loves running through and around and around it. She looks at with you with her big eyes asking you to play with her. Who says animals can’t talk! Such lovely cat with an equally lovely family 😻❤️

The beautiful Jenny and handsome Toby ( black and white) have just left. They stayed for the first time last year and hadn’t stayed away before so their lovely owner was a little worried. They were absolutely fine with lots of love and attention 🥰
Fast forward to this stay and they just settled in so quickly it was so lovely to see.
Jenny gives head bumps and drools with happiness 🥰😊I kept getting very soggy tops! 🥰 Toby has been a little pole dancer on the cat tree, showing his tummy off and being so purry!
They are the sweetest, gentlest cats and I can’t wait for their next stay in August 😻😻❤️

A photographer’s dream! Ragna and Muezza - two of the most stunning cats I’ve ever seen. Now we all know that what matters whether it be a cat or a person, that it’s all about character, BUT, sometimes, just like admiring a beautiful scenic view or a painting l, you cannot but go wow. And wow you do say when you see these two! 🥰 Personality wise they are as equally as beautiful! I call them my two little monkeys! Always up to mischief when they’re awake, they are so playful but so loving too. They went home on Tuesday and I’m counting down to their next visit 😻😻❤️
Saying bye to the beautiful Sophie and Honey. It’s a hide responsibility looking after poorly cats but so incredibly rewarding. Are you surprised when I say I love them!? 😂😻😻❤️
A special purry thank you from my own cat Paddy to everyone for their kindness and especially to #simplycatsveterinaryclinic for saving him ❤️ *** warning I am speaking to my cat, therefore I am speaking with my cat voice 🙈😆 I’m so glad to let you all know he has had his feeding tube out and his stitches, the wounds are healing nicely and we are down to one medication. Thank you all again for your love, support and patience while I’ve been looking after the patient 😻❤️ He is one lucky boy to have bounced back so amazingly after such a close call. Not bad going for 13 years young. He’s such a loving, purry, happy cat and it’s so lovely to see him lying in the sun again. I really worried he wasn’t going to make it 🥲🥰
My post yesterday really was to just ask for some time out from the admin side of the cat hotel ATM. I have so many people ringing, emailing, messaging about bookings for 2023 and 2024 every day. It back fired though and now I have owners worrying anout bookings already made. So here goes… My own amazing cat, Paddy, has been very seriously ill. It all started a week ago today. He isn’t out of the woods and has had a major operation this week. We finally got to bring him home last night with a tube in his neck to feed him, sublingual medication for pain relief, 2 antibiotics, anti nausea tablets, pain relief injections…I’ve lost count! His bowel had just stopped working, which is extremely dangerous. He was just filling up with air. We don’t know why it’s happened. We don’t know if his bowel will start again, but we are doing everything we can to get it to. To potentially lose him after losing my parents has been so unbearable I didn’t even want to say he was so ill out loud. He (and Rosie) helped my Dad so much when he had his stroke. Paddy didn’t leave his side quite literally, until the moment Dad went into hospital for the last time. They then comforted Mam when she was on her own, when I/we couldn’t be with her - and as those of you who follow the cat hotel know, they came to live with us when Mam died unexpectedly last August, so soon after Dad. They have since been such a comfort to me, and despite my worries, have taken hotel life in their stride. So much so Paddy try’s to do the meets and greets with me, the hi’s and the byes! So quite a few of you have now met him 🥰❤️ This week has been hard to say the least. However, he is home, we have hope and his vets are delighted with his progress. I cannot thank them enough. Sarah and Michelle especially. Michelle actually stayed up all night with Paddy she was so worried about him. The whole team have been a reassuring, loving support. I couldn’t be happier to oblige! 😻🥰

Meet Sophie, sister to Honey and two absolutely perfect guests. They are both ladies of a mature age, but you wouldn’t know it! I need to eat what they’re on!! They had 6 medications between them but they were so good. This was Sophie on her first day, after her first three tablets being popped down her throat. She just wanted a cuddle!! I know I truly love all of my guests but they are just so sweet it’s off the sweet scale!! 😻😻❤️
Holly Prickle PLAYING!!! HP despite living with an adoring mother for the past 10 years, has remained virtually feral. Many of you know she has been holidaying at the Cat Hotel over the past few years 😻🥰 It really is the most amazing feeling to see her ‘forget‘ she’s supposed to be scary and hissy to cover up how frightened she is of humans. She was so engrossed, so happy…and thankfully it doesn’t seem to be a one off, as she’s played for a few days in a row now. I usually only see her ears sticking out of the top of the tall cat tree! On her last holiday there was a little bit of progress and signs she might play but this time she’s done amazingly ❤️
This feels like a miracle! And this is one of the things that makes me most happy at the Cat Hotel. Holly Prickle forgets she’s a semi (at a push!) feral and…PLAYS…and properly plays!! To see her engrossed, happy and not fearful is priceless ❤️🥰😻

Holly Prickle (she’s rather feral, even 10 years on from her lovely owner rescuing, loving and spoiling her!🥰) leaves in around an hours time. It has made me so happy to see her make some progress, after many visits of really not! After her night of playing with the butterfly toy she retreated for a few days, but she was back to it last night and this was her last night too, right beside me. I always love having her to stay. Just as with humans, her quirks make her even more special ❤️😻
