Happy International Cat Day!!!

I have been very quiet on my page, concentrating on my guests and my own cats - but I couldn’t not do a post today!
Do post a photograph (and an update of your fur babies), whether they have never been a guest, whether they are a future guest, a regular guest or a photograph in memory of a your furbaby who has sadly passed.

Here are my two, Rosie and Paddy both nearly 15 years young.

Rosie has had an operation since I last posted - she had 7 teeth removed and during the operation I received a phone call from the vet to ask if she could do a biopsy on her tongue as it was very swollen and they needed to check it out, with the possibility it was cancer. My heart sank.

It took a week for the results to come back, so it was a week of worry, as you can imagine. Thankfully it wasn’t cancer, but she has got a condition which causes severe inflammation of the tongue and it also reduces the blood flow to the tongue.
However, it has not stopped her appetite. She has always been very food driven and her lack of teeth and her sore tongue has not put her off! I am having to shave her fur as she is unable to groom and won’t let me brush her.
Paddy continues to behave like a five-year-old rather than a 15-year-old!! And as ever is always purring and being a wonderful concierge at the Cat Hotel! 🙈 🥰
It is hard when one is so much healthier than the other, but I am so incredibly grateful to have them both.
Our bond is a very deep one and I couldn’t love them more ❤️🥰😻😻

And the hotel is open again after my week off!
In the Cosy Suite we have Morse the exotic shorthair who loves nothing more than being fussed. He will just sit with his neck up wanting to be stroked. He’s even had a massage today ❤️
Chianti his little sister, a tortie exotic shorthair is much more interested in playing than being fussed 😊🥰
We have a guest in the Playroom too so we are just awaiting the arrival of Lord Maximus later in the week! It’s lovely to have our guests here again 😊

My current guests, Fern the beautiful Siamese, Hugo and Henry the gorgeous Ragdolls (it’s their first time away from home and they are doing amazingly!), stunning Lottie the British long hair and her handsome cream British shorthair son, Polar and my one off license cat Snowball are all here to say that I am having a little time off and will not be available for messages or phone calls until the 11th of June.
It has been a very busy time and I just need to just switch off for a bit and concentrate on the beautiful guests I have and then I am going to have a little bit of time off for myself, to spend with my husband Mark and my own fur babies (and my feathery one too!!)
I will be back to replying to my messages and answering phone calls on June 11th.

The beautiful Smudge is on holiday in the Deluxe Suite 🥰 He is a short hair Ragdoll and is just loving life in his suite. He had a human little brother who doesn’t quite understands what cats like, and don’t like, so I think he’s enjoying the peace!

Big sister Alba ( white and tabby) and her siblings Enzo ( an all black boy ) and Luna ( a black and white girl) are here for their next holiday ❤️
Enzo and Luna were rescued from the most horrific circumstances - the person they were rescued from is hopefully in prison for a very long time now …
Their lovely owner rescued them both from what would’ve been an unimaginable hell.
It took a while for Alba to accept two little crazy kittens. She was much more of a big sister watching them from a distance at first, but now they are completely integrated, are all playing happily together and she mothers them now too 🥰
They are just a joy to be with 😻😻😻🥰

Some of my favourite photographs of Pebbles, Lucky, Teddy and Bing’s stay in the Deluxe suite. Although they have now left, I can’t wait for their next holiday. Four such lovely cats, all loved so much for their beautiful individuality 😻😻😻😻❤️

Lucky, certainly lives up to his name!
On the right a photograph of when he was rescued, a feral kitten who was tempted into his rescue cage by some tasty food.
On the left as he is now, not even a year later, staying with me and his three siblings, Teddy, Pebbles and Bing and loving his food just as much!
This is his first time away and at first the feral that will always be a part of him when he is scared was very much to the fore. I let him hide for two days. Keeping an eye on him on the CCTV camera to check that he was coming out in the dark to eat, which he was.
Then it was time to block the access to the back of the drawers up and for him to learn that it was okay. I was okay and he could trust me.
And thankfully that day with a lot of patience he decided that although he wasn’t sure what quite was going on he would let me hand feed him treats.
It is so rewarding it’s hard to describe 🥰

He still has the entire top of inside of the wardrobe, his safe space, where he sleeps with his brother Bing, who is also shy. But now he comes down to play and eat his treats and have a fuss.
What a beautifully natured cat, who had an awful start to life, but thanks to a very lovely family, is now loving life 😻❤️

There isn’t a photograph I could take that could demonstrate how sweet these two boys in the Cosy Suite are!! 🥰
Toby (the tabby) and Ralph (all black) are just the most placid, gentle, loving content cats you could possibly imagine.
When they arrived on Tuesday, their Mam said that they’d spent the morning scratching the door to get outside and I thought ohhh no!!! 🙈
But they have not been remotely bothered in the least and our loving life at the Cat Hotel!

I truly don’t think I could love cats anymore than I do! I feel very blessed to be able to do what I do 😻❤️🥰

Our first Easter guest for 2025 is the very photogenic Leo. Leo is a regular at the cat hotel with one of the most organised owners in the world!!
Leo came when he was 11 months old for the first time and it took a fair few visits for him to be cat I now have to visit. He used to stay up high in one of the tall cat trees but now comes down every time I go in to see him.
I do love that about cats. You have to 99% of the time, earn their trust.
Sometimes that can take hours, sometimes a day or days and then sometimes, occasionally, you just get a cat who comes and is immediately friendly. And then there are cats like Leo 😂 He’s made me work for it!!
I can remember on his first visit he hadn’t been to the toilet for the first three days and really that’s as long as I can let a cat not go. I actually cried, properly cried when he finally went! I never thought a cat p**p would make me cry 😂
Our next arrivals are Bing, Teddy, Pebbles and their latest addition Lucky, who I haven’t met yet 😻😻😻😻😍
