A friendly excited reminder. 🐾🦒

Our last working day is Friday 30th August 2024 and we reopen on Monday 16th September 2024.

This may seem a while to be closed however I am off on a very special adventure that I have dreamed of doing since watching Life on Earth as a kid with Sir David Attenborough.

The reality of travelling somewhere solo is starting to kick in a bit. It's scary but in a good way.
The kind of scary where you grow as a person and have the courage to follow your dreams.

During this time I won't be responding to emails or messages. They will be picked up on my return.

Thanks again to all my lovely clients and your amazing dogs and for understanding when I take some time off. 🦁🦓🐘

Thursday 🐾

It's raining, it's windy, it's warm and it's sunny, and that's all before 1230pm.

Bailey was grateful for a little breeze. He can get rather hot. Maisie made sure no dog could have the ball. She's the ball thief.
Floss and Rosie are determined to trip me up by throwing any log they find at my feet.
Elsie just wants to play chase the pine cone. She loves them.

The Thursday bunch everyone and a gorgeous bunch at that.

This week it's Rocco, our resident Rottie.
As you can see, he's grown into a big strong lad.

Many of our dogs have been with us since pups so it's been a real pleasure seeing them grow up.

Big welcome to Nala the 11 week old Labrador puppy who starts this week after having all her boosters.❤️
Nala will be having a couple of shorter walks with me and Rosie before she progresses to the group walks. She's absolutely adorable and so playful.

We have a NEW vet. 🐕 🐈‍⬛

We have moved from Westmount Vets in Huddersfield centre. They have been fabulous, however Rosie's Ramblers Huddersfield is now registered with Donaldsons Vets in Birchencliffe due to the closer proximity in the event of any urgent care.
Safety of the animals in our care is our number one priority, always. 🩷🐾

Home Visits for pets. 🐈‍⬛

Some lovely new little faces this morning on our holiday home visits.🌴🏖

Had some fun entertaining Skimble the kitten.
He is one vaccination away from freedom to roam his lovely new area.

Refreshed the Guinea pigs with fresh veg, nuggets and fresh hay. They had plenty of cool water and were happy munching in the shade.

🐾 Polite reminder 🐾

Rosie's Ramblers Huddersfield will be closed this week on Friday and the August BH weekend.

I will also be closed from Mon 2nd September till Mon 16th September for a holiday.

During this time emails, messages and texts will be picked up on my return.

I finish for Christmas on Friday 20th December and will return on Monday 6th January 2025.

Special attention 🐾

Working with reactive rescue dogs is very rewarding if you're prepared to put the leg work in. I have been working on building a bond with Maze for the last few weeks and the patience is starting to pay off. She's a complex dog having not had the best start in life.

She did so well today.
I am so pleased she didn't try and eat me.
The liver paste came in handy too.
Can't wait to see her again soon.

Existing customers, this will be automatically applied. New customers will be required to provide some identification to receive the discount. Get in touch for more information.

Summer has arrived for the day for some 🙌 ☀️☀️

Take care with your dogs as the temperatures climb.🌡

🐶 Keep them cool.
💦 Access to water
🌲 Enrichment games in the garden
❄️ Put the Kong in the fridge
🏊‍♀️ Get the paddling pool out
🌄 Morning/evening walks
🐾 Protect their paws from hot pavements

No dogs ever died from having a day off from a walk, but they can die of heat stroke. 🥵

As the temperature is set to rise tomorrow, remember to keep your dog cool. Don’t exercise them in the hottest parts of the day, and watch out for signs of heatstroke.

We have some early afternoon spaces that have become available in our group walks and we also have limited solo availability. ☀️

Our popular home visits for cats and small pets are fully booked through August but we have space available from mid September onwards.

Maze 🐾

What a beauty. Look at her 😍
Safe to say like with all my dogs, I've fallen in love with this stunning German Shepherd.

Maze is a rescue, and she was rescued as a puppy by her lovely owners. Maze didn't have a good start in life sadly and as a result is a very sensitive and highly reactive dog.

So far my time with her has been spent cautiously and we are slowly getting to know each other. Maze's owners are shift workers, so I have been asked to visit her at home when they need some support.

We have made some really positive progress.
Just lots of love, patience and rewards.
She has started giving me her paw and today she ate from my hand.

Can't wait to get to know you more Maze.

First full week back after the break.
We were down Stanley today. Hopefully he will be back tomorrow.
All our lovely dogs were happy to see us which is always great to see. 😁

How much did I miss our dogs!!
How loved did I feel today, they were all so happy to see me. Great feeling.🩷
Floss turned into a scuba dog today. 🤣
Never seen a dog show such joy at being in water. Brilliant.

We kept cool. Lots of shade and plenty of water.

My name is Jenny and along with my working Cocker Spaniel Rosie, aim to offer a caring and professional dog walking and animal care service tailored to your pets needs while offering great value for money and excellent customer service.

I have been crazy about animals, especially dogs my whole life.
My work experience comes from a career working in the travel industry for many years before I decided to work in social care caring for the elderly and individuals with complex care needs.

I moved to Huddersfield from Manchester in March 2020, and worked as a carer during the pandemic in the Holme Valley area.

In 2022 I opened Rosie's Ramblers Huddersfield and I am very proud of what has been achieved so far.

It's that time of year again. 🌞🌞

As the temperatures rise, extra care is to be taken when choosing when and where I walk to ensure your dogs comfort and safety. Our policy is unchanged from last year. If its too hot, walks will not go ahead at their usual times. Walks will include:

🌴 Shaded Areas
💦 Water Stops
🌄 Early Morning Walks
🏡 Home Visits/Enrichment Activities.

The safety and well being of my dogs is my number one priority and walks and activities will be assessed on a daily basis and communicated directly.

No dog ever died from not being walked, but they can from heatstroke.
