It is so wonderful to see our dog training community come together to highlight animal abusers calling themselves "Dog Trainers". The individual they are highlighting is coming to London this month and has a massive social media following who sadly support his abuse of dogs. Warning - His videos are not for the faint hearted and many involve hanging dogs in the guise of training.

Super proud of this little girl and her lovely mum. Less than 2 months ago, Tiny was extremely reactive to other dogs, barking, lunging, cowering and shaking. Here she is enjoying her walks and interactions. I couldn't be happier with her progress 😍🐶

I'm so chuffed to hear we will be banning shock collars from Feb 2024. This has taken years of campaigning from animal lovers and shows what can be achieved by never giving up on kindness ❤

🎉 We’re delighted that the Government has announced a ban on Electric Shock Collars in England, which will come into force in February 2024! 🙌👏

A survey carried out for our report found that 88% of dog owners agreed that training shouldn’t frighten, worry or hurt dogs!

This is something we’ve been campaigning on for many years, and this comes as fantastic news for animal welfare 💙

I've been working towards certification as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) since I started this journey some 11 plus years ago. It is considered to be the pinnacle of my profession and the closest thing to regulation the industry currently has.

The process of becoming certified is extensive and the first step is to have your knowledge and understanding of Animal Behaviour assessed and certified (I lost most of Christmas and New Year pulling together and mapping my evidence). I'm happy to say that I have passed the first step and am now looking forward to evidencing the final step, which is demonstrating my practical skills and experience 🥳🥳🐶

I've just received this feedback from one of my lovely customers and I am overjoyed with how well this little guy has progressed and the work his owners have put in to help him feel safe 😍👏👏👏

"We would definitely recommend Andrea at Woof Matters to anyone. How we wish we had met her when we got a puppy and asked for a list of doggy do's and don'ts. Andrea came to us to help with aggressive possession and anxiety issues in our 20mth old neutered Schnoodle. We had got to the point where we feared he would end up being put down as he was getting so unpredictable. We had previously tried a different behaviourist but Andrea seemed to quickly understand exactly what we were up against, what he would respond to and adapted methods to train him out of it. We not only got a tailored training plan and online / facebook support but we were given a fabulous bag of toys and treats designed to enrich his play and support training. There must have been around £30 worth of goodies in the bag! Andrea has been really supportive following her visit, a week after she came over we sent her a video of him playing up. She explained how he saw the situation from a dog's perspective and how to turn it all around and it really made such a difference. He relaxed and so did we! We had no idea how many dog body-language cues we were missing. We can read him so much better now. Andrea showed us some high quality toys she recommended for boredom busting and rewards. We bought these straight away, going online and searching after she left our house. They are without a doubt fantastic recommendations. He absolutely loves them. We still have work to do and we accept it is going to take months of repeating all the training before it becomes second nature. We do, however already have a much happier, calmer and more predictable dog. We feel much more able to avoid problems ocurrting and how to prevent escalation. We had our first Christmas party last weekend and he was so well behaved. We could never of dreamed of that 2 months ago. Thank-you so much Andrea. It's been thoroughly worth every penny we paid you and Hamish is like a much lovlier version of himself. We wouldn't hesitate to call you for any future issues and can't stop recommending you to anyone who will listen."
