Lovely young Labrador Betty attended this week with her mum and dad for an introduction to Mantrailing.
As an active working breed she is super keen to work and already demonstrates a good nose for a job sniffing.
Although Betty is loving her life as a pet, she comes from working lines and is eager to be 'employed'
This is common for many pet dogs, which is why the sessions we offer are so great to not only help create the partnership between the handler and dog, but also tick the boxes of what the dog is bred for.
All handlers gain a vast amount of knowledge on not only what the dog is doing, but also the communication that is given from the handler.
As first time dog parents, there is such a vast amount of knowledge out there that it is easy to be swamped down with knowing what is the right thing for you and your dog. However by breaking the communication and learning down into chunks, we can discuss, review and reflect on what is happening in that moment.
All of our sessions teach transferable skills and the team discuss how this can relay into 'normal' life and become a useful skill. Whether that is assessing areas reward value, finding the internal drivers for your dog and using them as a motivator or building understanding of body language, we are able to find something within each session which is individual to highlight.
Most of all, we have fun..... Betty can vouch for us, we can provide a great space to train and learn all at once 😊

All of our sessions are set up with each dog and handler in mind, regardless of any anxiety or reactivities your dog may have. Dogs are always worked individually and are kept on a long line at all times (so no recall, no problem!) Mantrailing really is an all inclusive sport! 💪🏻🐕

These days are aimed at developing your skills and advancing your trailing.
This is a full day of trailing aimed at people who want to learn more. Focus will be on specific topics depending on what areas of development are needed. If you are working towards levels, want aged trails or longer trails we can tweak the day to suit each handler. Time will be on troubleshooting, types of areas and working your dog for longer periods.
