𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗠 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: We have been made aware that someone is calling people claiming to be from Donaldsons Vets to say we have their lost pet and they need to pay a vet bill over the phone before they can collect their animal. This is a particularly cruel scam as the caller(s) are giving the owner the hope that their animal has been found, as well as trying to take their money.

Sadly we believe whoever is making these calls is researching social media platforms for lost pets and targeting the owners.

Please be cautious if you ever receive such a call - it is unlikely to be genuine. If you are concerned, hang up and call us back on OUR number so you know you are definitely talking to one of our team.

UPDATE

Very sadly, the poisoning has been confirmed to me by the dog's owner. She was active in the area around the children's playground, and was very interested by something in the area in this photograph.
I have this morning found a red balloon with an as yet unidentified grey-green granular substance tied inside it at the base of the tree in the foreground.
Please be vigilant, everyone, and please keep an eye out for balloons, particularly in shrub areas. If you find anything suspicious, please contact me on 07976 194113.

PRICE INCREASE

Unfortunately due to the increasing cost of living, fuel and the products I use, I am having to increase the cost of services.

Iv tried to keep my prices as low as possible for as long possible but it’s becoming more difficult. I will increase my prices from the 1st September.

I can’t put a new list of exact prices as prices vary for each customers depending on location and services etc but the new STARTING prices are now

Groom,nails and ears- £25
Bath, nails and ears- £15
Bath,groom, nails and ears-£35
Nail clipping- £10
Ear cleaning-£10

As a vet/groomer I see so many longhaired and/or doodle dogs who are matted. You need to feel the coat right at the root not just at the surface. Shaving these dogs short if matted respects the animal welfare act. We cannot have them on a table for hours being brushed - the pain and discomfort would throw animal welfare out of the window!!

If you have a longhaired and or curly haired dog do discuss brushing with your groomer. You need to get it right to avoid unnecessary sores and discomfort. Start from a young age to get them used to it and do not just concentrate on the body! The legs and face get matted to.

Avoid the shave and trips to the vet by maintaining the coat. Your groomer will become your best friend as they will help hugely ❤️
