At playful paws, we take first aid VERY seriously. We have unfortunately had incidents over the years, you never know when they will happen.. but god forbid if they do.. you need to know how to deal with them.

Over the years we’ve witnessed seizures, overgrown nails which have torn the nail bed & injuries to paws, cuts, grazes, we’ve even worked with dogs with spinal injuries.

We strive to provide the best service possible at playful paws where your babies are in the BEST & safest hands.

Our first aid kit has recently been replaced with the amazing first aid kit! This kit is brilliant, it even has thermometers as well as nail clippers, worth every penny.

We’re also booked on for a first aid refresher in march! It is so important to have these refreshers, even if you have the knowledge there. A reminder is never too much.

When hiring a professional dog walker, your dog walker MUST ALWAYS BE FIRST AID TRAINED, this is always something you should ask at a meet & greet. This is so important & cannot stress this enough. If your dog walker is not first aid trained, this simply a red flag.

Even non professional dog walkers, doing a practical in classroom first aid course & purchasing one of these first aid kits is beneficial, you’ll never know when you’ll need them!

Oh my these pet wipes quite literally save the day!!! 💪🏻

I ALWAYS keep a pack of these in my van for our gorgeous doggos at Playful Paws by Frans Dog Walking incase i ever need them❤️

Today, our gorgeous tucker needed a post session bum wipe, he loves a good stand up poo which means he gets a pooey butt🤣

Our Adios aloe vera & chamomile pet wipes are completely natural, no perfumes or rubbish!

🐾They’re fab for using around the eyes, ears, paws…and of course BUMS, on tuckers part💪🏻😂

🐾These pet wipes are also plant based & are 100% compostable.

WOODLAND WALKIES AVAILABILITY🐾🌳

On a Thursday afternoon we are now introducing a structured pack walk!

Dogs MUST have..

✅Perfect recall
✅Interact well with other dogs & have a positive history with all dogs.
✅Walk nicely on a leash
✅Understand basic commands
✅Must be over 6 months

Our pack walks are a great way to socialise & stimulate your dog.

Dear supporters,

I am writing to you with some very difficult news to share about changes we are having to make at our branch. The last couple of years have proven to be extremely difficult for our branch financially. We are a self-funding branch and seeing lower levels of income to our branch, higher costs in vet bills, utility bills, overheads and food. This is all having a significant impact on what we can afford to continue to do and therefore changes are having to be made as a result.

For this reason, we are very reluctantly having to temporarily stop the intake and rehoming of dogs, along with going through an Animal Centre staff restructure. All dogs that are currently in our care will be rehomed. We will continue to care for cats both at our centre and in foster homes. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for the staff and volunteers at the moment, so we hope you will all understand and support us through this. We would like everyone to know that this is not the end of our Animal Centre or branch and we hope to rebuild and be in a position where we can begin to rehabilitate and rehome dogs in the near future.

We now desperately need everybody’s support to help keep our animal centre open and allow us to continue our work. We will therefore be putting a campaign together over the next few days in a bid for everybody to come together and help us save our centre. In the meantime, please think of ways you can support us, whether it is making a one off donation, regular donation, company or individual fundraising, bake sales anything at all, we would be so grateful. No donation or support at all is ever too small.

We have been active in the branch area since the 1940’s and brought the Leeds & Wakefield area together in 2001. We are taking action now because ours & your local Animal Centre is worth saving. If we didn’t take action now we wouldn’t be here in June. We are waiting on promised funds to come to us which we have been waiting on for some time, and without it, things have become extremely difficult. We need your help now, more than ever before and we hope you will continue to join us on this journey of financial recovery to enable us to continue rehabilitating and rehoming animals in the Leeds, Wakefield & District Branch area.

🐾 NEWBIE ALERT 🐾

Everyone meet maverick, he’s a 7 month old dobermann & totally off his rocker😂 just how we like it.. full of energy! He’s the most goofy playful boy & we can’t wait for him to start at group with us🩷 puppies need to channel & burn there energy, they need so much mental stimulation! Mav absolutely loves other dogs, but as he’s so high in energy, a secure field would be so beneficial to him at a young age so he can socialisale safely! ❤️

A big shout out to Finn who has for the first time in a long time, walked amazingly in a pack! She went through a phase where she was a reactive girl🩷 however with plenty of dedication & training on her owners part as well as out with us, we where confident & comfortable in this situation which abled us to join a pack walk alongside Woof 4 Walkies with Beth who conveniently was walking in the same area as us! This went amazingly😍 & she absolutely loved it! Well done finn🩷
