Jet showing how much he needed his monthly bath yesterday. There is a slight marble colouring to the bath panels but… most of that grey is Jet’s dead coat coming out.

It’s good to be back at work!!! Some wouldn’t like it but the more mess, the bigger sign of a job well done!!! Less to drop round his family home too!! Gorgeous boy!! ❤️

I’m back working…. Managed 3 dogs today and so far so good. Thank you to everyone for bearing with me while I’ve been giving my body (and brain) the time and rest it needed. I’m still a little dizzy, a little spaced out and light headed, (not far from the usual) but a lot more nearer working full time again. I’ll contact customers who’s appointments got cancelled over the past 10 days and try and fit you all in, gradually.

There’s nothing like a bang on the head to make you feel grateful and happy to be returning to sone kind of normal.

I’m looking forward to seeing your beautiful dogs again soon.

🧠 update.
Although I am feeling better than I was last week. I’m still recovering from the concussion. I’m incredibly tired and I’m struggling with headaches and looking at things closely. The appointments already made from here on I will try and walk to, but will have to stagger the appointments that I had to cancel, like a phased return to work. I never realised a slight concussion could make you feel like this or take so long to get back to full brain power (or similar brain power to what I had)

Thank you for bearing with me. I think I’ll give up the show jumping. Leave me to my dressage

IM sorry to say I had a bit of an accident on Tuesday. I came off my horse at some speed at suffered concussion on after hitting my head on the plastic sleeper at the side of the arena fence. I’ve been checked over by docs and I’m very lucky to not have broken anything and was just disorientated and confused for a minute. I’m now recovering with sore muscles and a banging headache but for once in my life, I’m listening to my body and, my head and face(bruising) hurts so much that I’m having a few days rest to recover. All customers will be contacted and rearranged. Sorry for any inconvenience

Alfie popped in for his first big boy hair cut and he was a very good boy! He even went to sleep at one point

Sone good news for a change x

On 22nd May, a female Belgian Malinois was found abandoned in a layby near Scammonden— left with only a bowl of water.

Thanks to a quick response from local officers, she was brought to safety. After a failed microchip scan and a visit to the kennels, there were concerns she might never find a home.

But the next day. a kind-hearted member of the police team offered to adopt her. With support from the community and donations from local pet shops, her adoption and vet costs were covered. She was also given plenty of love, toys, and treats.

Now renamed Luna, she has found her forever home with a loving family.

Muffin and Gizmo came for their first groom with me bright and early this morning, they’re only 7 months old so I wasn’t sure how they would get on. They’ve been groomed elsewhere once. Muffin was an absolute star but Gizmo wasn’t so sure. I had to start him on my knee (not just that I wanted cuddles, honestly, ) then when he realised the scissors weren’t so scary he let me trim him on the table. What a pair of cuties!!! Welcome to Pennine Grooming 🐶

Some of you already know this little girls story, some of you may not, but she has been through a tough time. Her lovely owner was very poorly with frequent (mostly daily recently) hospital visits at a young age meaning Freya stayed with us sometimes for company as Myself and my dogs are always home. She was loved dearly but tragedy struck and her owner very sadly passed away, leaving this gorgeous girl with nowhere to live…..

There had been a small conversation, a flippant comment I made about her staying with us if her owner needed her to be cared for anytime, and … well… let’s just say that this beautiful girl is now part of the Pennine Grooming pack. I stuck to my word. I really wasn’t going to get another dog… but she found her way to us, after finding out a few things and saying g we weren’t having her🤦‍♀️. She is happy and loved by us and fits in with the others so well following tragic circumstances.

I can now say…..ABSOLUTELY no more dogs are coming to live here…. Or I’ll end up being a rescue charity.
