'Tis the season to be knotty!

Mud and puddles everywhere as we enter the flood months, which unfortunately makes it much harder to keep longer coats mat-free. Brushing while the coat is damp and using a leave-in conditioner spray will make your life a lot easier 😊

Grooming very enthusiastic, bouncy, active pooches is always a challenge... getting them to sit still for a photo when they are excited after a groom is a small miracle! (Admittedly, this was the only non-blurry pic out of at least a dozen 🤣!)

🎆 Are you and your pet prepared with bonfire night around the corner?

Loud bangs, pops and bright flashing lights can be very stressful for pets and their owners, so we wanted to share a few measures you can put in place to help your pet, including a great pet playlist, which you can play to help distract your pet from the frightful fireworks.

While fireworks light up the skies, we advise you to:
🎆 stay at home with your pet;
🎆 ensure they have access to fresh water;
🎆 close curtains, blinds, windows and keep doors closed;
🎆 provide a safe space with bedding for your pet to snuggle in, and
🎆 consider bringing small animals inside.

Today we said goodbye to our special boy, Sid. He came to us 15 years ago as a terrified feral, and grew into the most wonderful loving cat (even if he thought he was a dog). Our pack will not be the same without him. Sweet dreams my special little man 💔

Hug your fur-babies extra close tonight for me, no matter how long we have them, it is never enough xx

Happy Halloween! I haven't had time to do any spooky pup pics this year, partly because I have been nursing my own furries, including our franken-kitty, Tink, who had an amputation three weeks ago and is adjusting well to life as a tripod 🥰

The dreaded fireworks season is nearly upon us. Desensitisation, using videos or audio devices combined with treats and play, is a great way to avoid stressed pets when the real thing happens. You can start slow, with just a few minutes or even a few seconds for really anxious animals, and build up gradually.

Unfortunately, some animals never get used to it and it can be a very traumatic time. So it's a good idea to be prepared early with relaxing music and providing a cosy nest or den area where your pet can feel at least some sense of comfort and security until it has passed. A few of their favourite treats to reward them is always nice too.

Keep an eye out for details of when public displays will be taking place and be sure to walk your dogs early and have cats and small furries inside before dark.

The new booking website is finally up and running! I have checked and double-checked that all appointments have been transferred across, but you can now log in and view, amend or cancel your appointments, so hopefully this will make life a little easier for us all 😊

Also, for those of you who book in two dogs at the same time, there is now a special booking option so that you no-longer need to book two appointments 😄

AND you can add a little icon to your phone so you won't need to search for the website when you want to book 😁

Please ignore any messages you get from a site called Tuft. I am still working on the booking system and set up a trial on Tuft, but didn't know they were going to message my clients before it was actually set up 🤦‍♀️ Needless to say, I wasn't impressed with the trial and won't be using that system. But the new site is very nearly complete and will hopefully be live soon!

I apologise for all the changes, my previous booking sytem is more than doubling their fee, so I decided to switch rather than face having to increase prices again. But on a plus note, the new system will allow you to log in and see or amend your appointments without the need for lots of messaging, yay!

I'm back and trying to get back into things and catch up with messages but bear with me, the summer is fully booked and I now have my children at home to consider, so I can't add in any extra hours. If you haven't been able to get an appointment with me, you could try Fab Paws on Stukeley Meadows or Pride & Groom in Somersham.
