Moats Way Equestrian

Moats Way Equestrian is a purpose built training and livery yard in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The yard is owned and managed by Claire Dodson BSc BHSII.

Claire is a highly experienced trainer and competitor, primarily in Eventing but also in all Riding Club and Pony Club activities. The livery yard is privately situated making it a safe, quiet and secure environment for your horse. The stables are located just feet from the main dwelling, allowing 24-hour supervision and hence excellent security. In addition, there are electric main gates and an a

larmed tack room. The thirty acres of grazing ensure all year turnout for horses if required and the remaining land provides excellent off-road hacking with access to the local villages of Hemingford Abbots and Hemingford Grey providing some road work if required. We have also gained permission from the neighbouring farmer to ride on a made up track across his land that joins into bridleways to Hilton and The Offords.

We are really lucky to have both Summer and Winter grazing at Moats Way providing all year round turnout.
The horses have made the move this weekend to the winter paddocks.
Very happy horses!

A busy but productive morning with Poppy from Dodson & Horrell.
All the horse’s on livery at Moats Way Equestrian were weighed and condition scored.
We weigh tape the horse’s monthly to monitor their weight but it’s great to have Poppy come and check them and give us plenty of advise and help.
Thanks to the staff for all their help today too…it was a jam packed day!

If the answer is ‘yes’ then the Moats Way Team would love to hear from you!!

⏰ Times: 40 hr week 8am-5pm, with some 7.30am starts to open up the yard - will include weekend days and a full weekend once a month plus bank holidays.

👀 Looking for someone who: has some equine experience, has a mature attitude. We need someone who has a passion to work with horses; is reliable; flexible; hard working; capable of handling a range of horses from the ground and a confident rider.

To join our friendly, happy, hard working team that has a wealth of experience, who are happy to help the right person improve and learn more in the equine industry

🐴 Jobs include all standard yard care; mucking out, poo picking, turning in/out, haying, rugging, washing/picking out feet etc. communicating and liaising with livery regarding their horses care.

🐎 Riding and working the horses from the ground a possibility for the right person.

👕 Uniform included

📑 contract, pension, holiday and sick pay

Our liveries at Moats Way have regular dental checks and treatment from Bev Rippon - Equine Dentist.
Bev was here last week and kindly spent some time with Ellie and Eva who are here with us doing work experience once a week and work at the weekend.
