Growing up with dogs, I have always loved and felt a great affinity towards them. My modern training system is full of fun techniques that will give you and your pet a happier life together. I qualified as a Dog Training Instructor with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour Training (CIDBT) in 2013. Carrie Bates Dog Training was founded the same year and since has developed a special reputation

with many dogs and their owners in Huntingdon. I believe that having a clear set of boundaries is one thing but being fierce is just not necessary. I don’t believe in choke collars or other aversive tools or techniques as the way to teach an animal discipline.

The 10am Puppy Class had fun with a recall exercise getting their puppies to chase them before working really well on their loose lead walking 😊🐶

The Puppy Classes were in the Orchard in the park the other week but they all coped well with the different environment and did amazingly 😀🐶

A little pupdate on young Fernando! He’s growing fast, loving all the toys, meeting lots of new friends and loving the water! Barnaby is still being the best big brother he could be 🥰🐶🐾

The 11.30 Puppy Class were not going to let the bouncy castle distract them from the fun games we were all playing. Amazing recalls! 😁🐕🐾

The 10am Puppy Class had lots of fun with the exercises and then put a few together on a fun course! 😁🐶

On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of August, Barnaby (possibly with Fernando pup as well) will be at the Wild Meadows (Secret Garden Party) doing a chat and drop in sessions all about dog behaviour and raising your puppy (Saturday) with a trick training class on Sunday afternoon (14.00-14.45). Do come along with your family, dogs and/or puppies.

Meet Fernando! Our beautiful new puppy 🥰. Barnaby is being an amazing big brother to him already, even when he’s chewing on his fur! Fernando adores him and loves to snuggle up with him when he can 😍🐶

In the 11.30 Puppy Class, we were joined by another chocolate Barnaby! They all did brilliantly with the exercises and very nervous Charlie was so brave around the other puppies 🥰
Yes, little Bobby’s owner knew he was in the dog house for using an extendable lead! 😂🐕🐾

The 10am Puppy Class were excellent with teaching their puppies to turn with them, away from distractions, even other puppies 🐶 🥰

The 10am Puppy Class did great with teaching their dogs to come towards them and away from distractions. They also had fun putting some of the exercises together in a mini course 😀🐶🐾

The 10am Puppy Class had some fun learning to take as well as drop items, along with another fun recall game. It was challenging as we had busy bouncy castles right next to us! 🤦‍♀️😂🐾

The awards recognise individuals and groups that improve the quality of life in our communities. 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩

Barnaby is possibly going to get recognition for all the hard work, love, and care he gives to so many young people. It is so well deserved! 🐾

A panel of judges will consider all entries and shortlist 32 finalists. In the summer, they’ll announce those finalists live on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire! ☀️
