A couple of days back from hols and I'm already inventing new things.

Introducing the FURMINATOR. Borne out of necessity, but mostly after being hounded by Mrs. Simply Sharp to do something about the vast amounts of pink fur I take into the house on my clothes every time I'm in the workshop.

And after we spent a whole 9 hours deep cleaning the workshop in our holidays last week, I came up with this. A Test cutting booth. So far so good, or shoukd that be so FUR so good šŸ˜„.

All hail the new Tensionometer.

A simple but effective tool.

Itā€™s that time again. Plate flip day.

I was starting to get a few inconsistencies and the number of blades sharpened on this wheel was very similar to last time. So itā€™s time to flip. This is to ensure a consistent quality.

Now if only I could do the same with myself when Iā€™m getting rundown and worn out !

I saw this beautiful autumnal arrangement today and just had to take a photo. It was part of the salon wide decor created by Alan at The Loft, Inverness. I love theses additional creative outlets that people have.

You may have noticed that Iā€™ve been a little quite recently. This is due to undergoing medical treatment in July which has left me very fatigued and Iā€™m only just starting to get back to things now.

Iā€™ve had to postpone and reschedule quite a lot of customer visits in July and August. Iā€™ve contacted the majority of you, and should be in touch with my remaining customers within the next 2 -3 weeks with rescheduled dates.

If you havenā€™t heard from me , or you'd like confirmation of new dates , please get in touch and I'll advise.

Thank you for your patience, I really appreciate all the support you give me.

Itā€™s a very rare occasion when you can sharpen outside in the sunshine in Scotland. So Iā€™m making the most of it.

I've only a few clients who use these Aescaulap blades, and those who do absolutely love them.

As a sharpener I can see why. They glide through any coat much smoother that most A5 blades, they are easy to clean and they are relatively straightforward to sharpen (once you figure them out).

The only downside is that the clipper is a single speed so may not suit those who clip very quickly.

If you need yours sharpened, get in touch.

I do like a splurge of colour and these newly arrived fluro pink blade guides are definitely colourful.

Behind the scenes.

These are some of the parts we sharpeners need to make your clipper blades cut cleanly and smoothly. It all looks nice and clean, but can get real messy when in full workflow.
