And that's another year gone 🫑
There have certainly been many challenges in 2024, but we've managed to weather them all πŸ’ͺ
Taking a moment to reflect on the positives, there has been an awful lot to like about the last 12 months.
🌟I became a qualified coach and started teaching and running regular clinics. I've had more bookings in my first 6 months of teaching than I ever imagined and I'd like to thank all my lovely clients who have been a part of that journey.
🌟This year I have completely changed how I handle and train horses. I now do more groundwork and use natural horsemanship techniques. This has benefitted my horses and has also enabled me to work with other horse owners with a variety of challenges, from behavioural under saddle and handling, hacking, as well as loading issues. This has really taken off in the last few months and is something I'm very passionate about.
🌟I've enjoyed working with all those involved in Hurst Equestrian. There have been a lot of fantastic shows and great training sessions, along with the excitement of opening the yard at Hascombe.
🌟My OTTB Poppy has been a huge highlight πŸ’œ She's been so much fun to work with and has tried her hardest at every point. Currently she's enjoying a well earned winter holiday, and I look forward to getting back on her in the new year.
🌟The yard has been full all year, and we have such a great group of people and horses at Pakyns. It feels like a lovely little supportive community which is a key reason why I love my job so much.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved with Pakyns in 2024....
Bring on 2025 🍾

This has officially been my busiest week for teaching to date!
I've been driving around for flat, jump, and groundwork lessons, and ran a polework clinic yesterday.
It's all been so enjoyable as I love meeting different people/horses and helping them work towards achieving their goals.
I'm running another polework clinic next Saturday, which will include a groundwork session with a focus on exercises to help with strengthening/rehab.

Please send me a message if you want any more info.

Poppy was such a good girl for her first Prelim today, getting a score of 62.8% 😁
She got some lovely comments from the judge and four 7.0s!!
She's really enjoying getting out and about and pretty much loaded herself when she saw the trailer ready and waiting πŸ˜‚

Home after a long day at the office!
It's been that time of year where I take off my usual compeitors hat and become a show secretary for the Hurst College Inter School Jumping Competition at Hickstead.
A lot of organisation went into it with over 150 entries! I spent the day tucked away in the judges box which was such an interesting experience.
The day was a big success, despite the questionable weather!
Well done to all those who attended πŸ†
