Danny 🤎
Danny worked his paws off (and nearly his tail as he caught it today! 😢) for his dad and the other guns. He quite enjoyed being a peg dog today! 🐾
Ginny
Gin found some lost property whilst we were out and about today, she kept it very safe before trying to find its owners 🙈 We are really looking forward to the next 3 last days of the season and will be sure to get lots of photos! 🪶 Sad to say it’s nearly over.
Lead On & Off to release cue
This is a bit of a thing for me! Very simple, but very important… being able to take your lead off and your dog NOT just giving itself a self release. A great exercise to practice reps of taking your lead on and off and your dog waiting for your release cue to the move on! Steadiness, impulse and basic manners… Something that I install from the get go 😊 🐾🪶

Oakley and Fleur 🐾🪶
Introducing Fleur to working around 1 other dog (Oakley) this morning, still keeping nice and close and still working what I’m asking her on the whistle. Building this up in a low level environment with low distractions to begin with before introducing it out in higher stimulated environments with more distraction. Not to sure why the recording hasn’t picked up the whistle pips properly! 😂 🐾🪶
Oreo 🖤
I am continuing to sew my seeds with our young springer, Oreo. Each time we head out for our 20min training sessions I break it up into various different exercises to keep it all fun and motivating! At the same time I am equally making sure the exercises I am carrying out are valuable in producing and repping all the correct wanted behaviours from the very beginning of my dogs training journey. These include solid sit stays without breaking position until I release my dog, the use of my stop, recall and turn whistles which encourage my dogs to stay in my bubble and are also crucial in day to day life as well as working in the field. I also find it very important to acknowledge the ‘check in’s’ with eye contact when my dogs offer it either with a verbal ‘yes’ or by paying them with a highly motivating reward. So far Oreo is throughly enjoying her training! 🐾🪶
Fleur 🖤
Young Fleur keeping nice and close working on her stop whistle this morning 🫶🏼🖤 I don’t need to constantly push my dogs away from me, it’s equally as important in day to day life or for the beating line that I keep a tight bubble for my dogs to hunt or work in. I get asked soo many times how I keep my spaniels close… my answer is… it’s what they know from day dot. I push them away from me using a command, apart from that they are more than happy sticking right next to me… I am where the fun happens after all! It simply depends on the task I am putting the dog out for - always set your dog up for success. Be clear and consistent in your training. 🐾🪶
