Rosie has started hydrotherapy following surgery for medial patella luxation. This is where the patella (knee cap) does not stay within its groove of the bone when the knee flexes during movement. Her surgery went well but she has some muscle loss and needs to retrain the leg position.

I thought Rudolph had arrived early but no its was Hendrix with his jingly bell antlers!!
Hendrix was signed off treatment today following his TPLO surgery, it's taken a while but he is now fit and strong with even muscle mass in both hind limbs. His owners will monitor for any signs of arthritis and we are always happy to offer management advise and review at any time. Its been a pleasure Hendrix 🤎 Merry Christmas

Wren (Labrador) with a bicep injury, Mica (Poodle x Patterdale) following fracture repair to her femur, and Hendrix (Cockerpoo) with mild hip dysplasia and following TPLO surgery for cranial cruciate disease

Let's see those Christmas jumpers!!....This is Joanie sporting her new reindeer jumper (not sure its bringing her as much joy as us) Joanie comes because she has patella luxation in both back legs, one has had surgery and we are building her strength prior to the other side having surgery next year

This handsome lad recently had a birthday and is now 13 years old! He is struggling with hind limb weakness and arthritis so is using the water treadmill to regain some strength and balance. Happy belated birthday Charlie 🥳💛

Oden has also rejoined us, he started hydrotherapy back in April following surgery to his stifle for Cranial Cruciate Ligament Disease, unfortunately we only got 6 sessions in before the ligament in the other stifle ruptured and he needed surgery for that side too. So now we have both sides to work on....
He is so excited to be back and stands at the treadmill door barking at me to open it and let him in, and then he just plays...and walks...plays....and walks 🤎

Meet Bailey, he came for the first time last week to strength his back legs, he is hyper mobile in his stifle and tarsal joints (knees and ankles) which means they over extend. He did so well getting used to the treadmill 💛

Lucy was back in the water this morning, restarting hydrotherapy following her hind limb amputation. Pampered in the shower afterwards and of course the obligatory post swim snack 🥰

Meet Poppy, she is such a sweetie, its taken a bit of time to win her confidence but now as long as she has chicken dangling in front of her face she is happy 🩶 and will happily run toward it
Poppy has arthritis in her hind limbs, she was very stiff, sad and anxious and is now doing so well along with the right medication. The water can reduce joint pressure, warm the soft tissues, increase comfortable joint range of motion and strengthen.

This cheeky chappie is Tommy, Id love a better picture but he just never stops moving! 🤎 Tommy has sore hips and neurolgical symptoms so his back legs are a little paretic (weak due to poor nerve feedback) and he can be a bit wobbly.
The Water treadmill helps stimulate the nerves, we can assist in his co-ordination and strengthen in the right gait pattern.

So lovely to have Mia (and her bag of hot dogs) back at hydro, following her TPLO surgery she has had a bit of a set back with an infection. We are praying it is all under control now and she can avoid further surgery, in the mean time we will work on gentle loading of the limb and strengthening 🤎🌭🌭

Meet Parker 🧡 a beautiful red dachshund who has started her weight loss journey and is coming for some additional hydrotherapy to increase her workload which reduces the stress and impact on her joints, we will keep you posted of her progress and wish her luck
