Last job of 2023!
This was a tough one but nothing stopped us from doing what we do and making the tank look good as new. Customer never wants the tank to look like this again, and has opted for a Cleaning package we offer, this will now be done once every 2 weeks for the foreseeable future. 🐟

Check out this new product we have recently used with fantastic results! 🐟
Nitrico Bacterial Goop is a pouch of live nitrifying bacteria. It will allow you to add fish to a new aquarium without the usual ammonia and nitrite problems associated with immature filters. You can also add Nitrico Goop to your existing mature tank to prevent Ammonia or Nitrite spikes when introducing new fish. We always recommend testing your water quality regularly.
Each pouch of Nitrico Goop contains trillions of true, freshwater Ammonia and Nitrite Oxidising bacteria. These bacteria are alive and ready to colonise your Aquarium. They are hungry for fish waste and will break down the ammonia and nitrite in your aquarium to ensure that the water continues to be safe for your fish, shrimps, frogs or any other aquatic life that you are keeping.

A very basic and simple quarantine tank for one of our regular clients, customer wants to be extra careful before adding any new fish to their aquarium, this allows them to observe or treat any issue that may arise before they join their full time home. 🐟🐠

Something we don’t see very often, XL male beta!
This is an exceptional example of how stunning these fish can be, typically betas are smaller and are great for smaller aquariums minimum 40 litres.However this beauty would need something bigger to accommodate the larger size.

Another new customer today!
Check out this before and after of this Roma 200 tank, the customer wanted to replace the old sand bed with new gravel, including a deep clean also replacement of the filter pads to keep the water crystal clear.
This is the after the first visit but we have so much more planned for this. Keep an eye out for the updates! 🐟🌱👀

Just under a month ago we re-designed this beautiful tank for a customer, and check out how it looks now.The plants have all settled in great and are even growing new shoots.
New fish will be introduced very soon.

Black Phantom Tetra
These are some great looking fish especially the males they have a larger dorsal fin than compared to the females, these do great in well planted aquariums in groups of 6 or more.

What a transformation this is!
Here is a customers tank we have been working on for about 6 weeks, originally had a case of black beard algae, water was green and the plants were on their last legs. However with some hard scrubbing and some deep cleaning we have managed to get it back to brand new.
Now the new design has fresh sand, upgraded filter to help keep it clean, a rocky area to add a more open yet less busy side of the tank, fresh plants with a mix of larger background plants and small foreground, also a couple of Anubis and a Java fern. 🌱

A great new tank design on a Fluval flex 123 today!
The customer has plans to make this a Cory catfish biotope tank, we went for a river slow moving water style. This will make it as close to their natural habitat as possible.
Next step is to get this cycled and add some love plants and possibly some botanicals. 🌱🐟

Internal filters-
Filters in general are a must within an aquarium, their are so many types and brands to choose from such as internal, external canisters, sump systems ect.
Most people have an internal filter to begin with then eventually upgrade to an external canister .
Example the internal filter in this picture below is a Fluval U3, it offers a great amount of filtration. it comes with two filter pads and biological media within to make sure your home aquarium is kept in pristine condition. This particular filter is suitable up-to 150 litres depending on how heavily stocked the tank is. 🐟🐠

Pond top tip 💡
Regular water testing is vital all year round. Most notably as water temperatures rise in spring and summer.
Temperature rises cause the metabolic rate of the fish to increase (doubling with every 10°C rise). Hence, the fish eat more food and inevitably excrete more ammonia and solid waste. Placing an increased burden on the pond filter.

Check out this work in progress!
Here is a lovely little aqua Leddy 105 litre tank, the customer contacted me to help get her tank back to life. The tank has a minor outbreak of black beard algae which is very tough to remove, however with some elbow grease,deep clean of the filter and glass we have managed to remove it.
This is the midway point for the tank rescape I will be adding live plants and more rock work very soon! 😃

Great afternoon cleaning this little 60litre tank, check out the before and after in the pictures!
Deep cleaned the sand bed, trimmed the plants back, fully cleaned the filter out,removed the algae on the inside glass, and fixed the air stone into place to stop it moving around.Finished with a nice glass clean to make it brand new 🐟🌱✨

Powder blue tang
They are stunning fish however within the salt water community they can be difficult to keep even for the most advanced. However if you can keep these beautiful creatures they offer such a pop of colour and character.
Is it Reef Compatible?
Yes generally safe. Will browse on any algae in the tank and if underfed may nip at some corals. New introductions are prone to catching parasitical infections so feed with garlic enriched foods, for example frozen brine shrimp and garlic. Use a UV steriliser if possible to help reduce the chance of infections which are hard to clear up in reef systems. May be more suited to an aquarium without corals so copper can be used to treat. 🐟

Corydoras trilineatus - these little cory’s are great for beginners they also great for cleaning the sand, but prefer to be kept in groups of 4 or more.
Maximum size 6cm
Prefer temps 23-26C and like a PH of 6.8-7.2

For anyone who’s interested in keeping male fighter fish, you can get so many varieties and colours. Take a look at this half moon Plakat.
These are best kept on their own in tanks no smaller than 40 litres. 🐟

Something you don’t see very often a Cupid cichlid.
For anyone interested in these beautiful fish here’s a little information on them.
Maximum size 12cm
Preferred temperature 26-28c
And like a PH of 6.0- 6.5
Minimum take size 200 litres.
