**Teddy the Pug Needs a Loving New Home**

We are helping a family rehome their beloved black pug, Teddy, aged 8, DOB 10/01/2018, as they navigate significant changes in their lives. This decision has not been made lightly, but they feel it’s in Teddy’s best interest to find a home where he can receive the love, attention, and time he truly deserves.

About Teddy:
- **Breed:** Black Pug
- **Neutered & Microchipped:** Yes
- **Health:** Fully up-to-date with flea and worm treatments
- **Temperament:**
- Friendly, affectionate, and loves cuddles
- Great with kids, though he gets excited around food and may jump up
- **Training Needs:** Teddy is food-motivated, which is helpful for training. He needs work on lead training and managing his excitement around food. When Teddy was out with South West Walkies I would always have him off lead and he would walk to heel beautifully. His lead training would be when on pavements/ road walking.
- **House-trained:** Yes
- **Exercise Needs:** He would benefit from regular walks and playtime to help him stay active and maintain a healthy weight. Teddy is a very sociable pug and has been a member of South West Walkies from 2019 to 2023 and has been a pleasure to have.

What He’s Looking For:
Teddy needs a home where someone has the time and patience to focus on his training and provide him with daily exercise. He might do well with a larger dog companion to play with and would thrive in a household where he gets plenty of attention.

Teddy is a truly sweet dog who will make a wonderful companion for the right family. If you think you could offer Teddy the loving home he needs, please get in touch for more details.

Let’s help Teddy find his perfect forever home!

Be careful. Palm oil about

Merry Christmas to you all! Just a little heads up if you’re planning on burning off that Christmas dinner with a dog walk on the beach, it appears to have been reported on local pages that palm oil has been washed up on our stretch of coastline, most likely as a consequence of the recent storms. This waxy substance is very attractive to dogs, but if ingested can cause pancreatitis. This extremely painful condition can cause severe abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea and lethargy. In some cases hospitalisation is necessary and can be serious. Please be super vigilant if you are walking your dogs on the coastline and if you suspect your dog may have ingested some, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, DO NOT wait for symptoms to develop. There appears to be a mild strain of kennel cough going around. If your dog has been coughing, please let me know as they can’t come out walking until they’ve stopped. ###

Once again coming on here to have a good moan. To the lady and the gentleman with the one grey and one black wire haired whippet sized dogs. Shame on you. I was finishing my walk and I had my three dogs on the lead at which point you came around the corner with your grey dog off the lead which ran straight up to my three dogs who were on a lead, growling. You didn’t apologise for his behaviour and you shooed him past me at which point, I said an apology would be nice. And you then started defending your dogs behaviour saying that he wasn’t growling and that he was being friendly and that’s how he says hello to Dogs, and it’s good dog behaviour. My dogs are neutral and didn’t react. However I cannot believe you think it’s acceptable or that you think that is good dog behaviour. This is why the dog world is so messed up at the moment and why so many dogs have reactivity issues. I said to you if you cannot see round the corner and you cannot recall your dog to keep it on a lead. I assume that was your husband with you who was also rude and defending your dogs actions. I cannot believe we still live in a society which thinks it’s acceptable to allow your dog to be out of control and brush it off as being friendly. I advocate for my dogs and make sure they don’t get in harms way, and I will never apologise for sticking up for them, but what you must remember is that if your dog behaved in that manner towards a large breed that was reactive, your dog could come out worse or worse case scenario have to be put to sleep because the other dog has absolutely nailed it for rushing up to it on a lead. It’s not okay. It never will be okay. If you cannot see what is coming round the corner and your dog is going to rush to Dogs on a lead, keep it on a lead itself.

Please drop me a message if this is something you’d like to discuss as always they will be walked in our secure field to test recall and safety to begin with.

If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I’m not your “typical” dog walker. My walking and daycare dogs thrive on structure. Dogs shouldn’t just run wild, do as they please, or create chaos. From the very start of our exercise, I make sure thresholds are respected - it’s never just “get out and go.”

We love having fun and we love to play, but we make sure it’s done safely and with control. Your dog’s well-being and behaviour come first, so we can all enjoy the experience!
