Customers that order on our website will notice that we've changed the name of our Grain Free Kibble products. This is in preparation for an exciting new range of kibble we will be releasing in the coming weeks, as we wanted to make it easy for our customers to tell the difference between the old products and the new ones.

We've put together a useful article on our website explaining the name changes, but essentially 2kg and 12kg bags will now be known as 'Healthy K9 | Signature' and 15kg bags will now be known as 'Healthy K9 | Endeavour.'

I would like to assure customers that absolutely nothing has changed in any of the recipes and this is a name change only.

Pip the Easter doggo here, just letting you know that the store is closed for collections on Friday 29th March and Monday 1st April, but will be open on Saturday 20th March between 10am-12noon. Deliveries will resume on Tuesday 2nd April.

After a 3 month gap, our best-selling Sweet Potato dental treats are now back in stock! I know that many of your dogs will be very happy to hear this news - Pip included!

These treats are so popular as they are a natural and healthy way to clean your dog's teeth. The hard texture helps to scrape plaque and tartar off your dog's teeth, whilst being high in fibre and 0% fat to help 'firm up' your dog's... erm, deposits.

Healthy K9 is now closed for Christmas! 🎅

We will reopen on Tuesday 2nd January 2024, and look forward to welcoming lots of you to the store on Saturdays in the New Year!

Can you believe it's a week until Christmas?! 🎅

Pip wanted to let you know that Healthy K9 will close Friday 22nd December and will reopen on Tuesday 2nd January. Customers wanting a delivery before Christmas will need to place their order by Wednesday 20th, to give us enough time to process.

I'm delighted to announce that the price of a single bag of our Grain Free Kibble is fixed for at least another 6 months! 🥳

There will be a few changes regarding delivery fees and discounts in the New Year, details of which can be found on the link below.

Also from January 2024, the store will be open on Saturdays, to allow more opportunity for customers who'd prefer to collect their orders to do so.

Introducing Otis to the Healthy K9 Pack!

Otis is a Carpathian Shepherd Dog, whose owner was recommended to Healthy K9 by another wonderful customer of ours. It seemed Otis wasn't too bothered about his current food and so his owner was looking for something that would reignite his appetite.

Fast forward a few weeks, and after a free trial of our food, Otis has regained his 'spark' when it comes to mealtimes, happily munching down every bowl! It just goes to show what a food with proper ingredients can do!

I hope you can join us in wishing Brodie a speedy recovery, after he was taken to the vets earlier this week with a suspected poisoning. Although the origin is unclear, it is lucky that he is a fit and healthy dog, else the outcome could have been quite different.

Introducing Casper to the Healthy K9 Pack!

Casper's owner was recommended to Healthy K9 by his groomer, who had noticed Casper was showing signs of irritation on his tummy. He was also not all that bothered by his current food so his owner felt it was time for a change.

Skip forward a week and the irritation on Casper's tummy has completely cleared and he is licking his bowl clean at mealtimes! All of which goes to show, just how important diet is for a dog's overall health and wellbeing.

Very late in posting this, but here is an excellent write up of the fun dog show that me and Pip attended back in August, in aid of Yappy Ever After Dog Rescue - Registered Charity No 1163969.

There was an astonishing turnout, with over 500 people and dogs coming through the gates, and an extraordinary amount of £3444.50 raised for the charity on the day!

It was wonderful to meet so many dogs and their owners, but I must admit that judging the category of 'Most Handsome Male' was one of the most stressful things I have ever done in my life! 😵

This Saturday is the Yappy Ever After Dog Rescue - Registered Charity No 1163969 Fun Dog Show, taking place at Shipley Woodside Community Garden (DE75 7JE). There are 6 classes in total, with the top 3 in each class winning a rosette, certificate, and some treats from Healthy K9!

Myself and Pip will be there with a stand selling our food, treats and chews, along with other local businesses selling crafts and refreshments. Entry is by donation and a portion of our profits for the day will be donated to Yappy Ever After.

So why not pop along and say hello, sign your dog up for a class or two (it’s just for fun!), and help dogs in need by supporting this amazing charity.

I am now on holiday, and hope to soon be as relaxed as Pip is in this photo! Our delivery service (both local and national) will be running all next week as usual, but the store will be closed for collections until I return on Monday 7th August.

You can still leave me voice messages and emails, which I will respond to as soon as I can, but please place orders via our website wherever possible. Thank you and see you when we get back! 😎

I think I might need to start taking Pip to agility classes, as she seems very fond of getting on top of high places! 😱

Getting down was the hard part, but she let me carry her on my shoulder without resistance, almost as if admitting going up there was a stupid idea in the first place! 🤦🏻

I'm sorry for the lack of updates recently, things have been hectic here to say the least, and the fatigue from COVID has been lingering on...

Pip has been busy this week, and on Tuesday we got to meet Prince, a beautiful 2yo Rottweiler belonging to a customer that was visiting Derbyshire during the half term holiday.

People often avoid Prince, due to the bad reputation that his breed often gets, but I've not met many more affectionate dogs than him, who just wanted a fuss and to run around with Pip!

Can we get some love on here for all the large breeds? 🫶

So after 3 years I have finally been struck down by COVID for the first time, and I don't think I have ever felt this poorly in my entire life!

The store is closed today and will reopen on Tuesday 9th May, and any messages will be responded to when my head stops spinning.

Pip wanted to let you know that the 'Stanley Common Coronation Bash' is taking place this Monday 8th May, from 1-4pm at the Bartram Centre Scout Hut in Stanley Common (DE7 6GL)!

There is going to be loads of fantastic stalls, crafts and games to enjoy, plus a fun dog show judged by our very own Colin Tomlinson! Healthy K9 will be donating prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the 8 categories, plus an extra special prize for 'Best in Show...'

What a week! There definitely weren't enough days to fit in everywhere we wanted to go, but Pip's personal highlights were, the incredible beach at Bamburgh, the awe-inspiring Cragside Estate, and taking a ride on the miniature railway from Heatherslaw to Etal.

Where has all the stock gone Dad? Ah, there it is!

In an effort to better serve our customers, our store is now quite literally stacked to the rafters! This will allow us to plan our local deliveries more effectively, and pack our overnight orders immediately - all to get your dog's food to them even quicker than before. Now, I had best lose some weight so I can fit through that gap!

What a fantastic time me and Pip had today, taking part in The Spotted Calf Cafe's first charity dog walk!

We met lots of lovely dogs and their owners, and helped raise money for Just For Dogs Rescue. 10km later (more like 20km for Pip) and our girl was well and truly shattered!

Thank you for organising a wonderful day, and we're already looking forward to the next one in March!
