Here’s RVN Sarah monitoring an anaesthetic 🩺
Veterinary nurses are able to monitor and seek advice from the veterinary surgeon on the patients condition to evaluate whether we need to change the anaesthetic dose or intervene.
Some of the vitals monitored are…

🫁 Respiration Rate
🌡️Temperature
🩸Blood Pressure
👀 Patients reflexes
🌬️ ETCO2 (measures amount of carbon dioxide expired)
🩵Oxygen Saturation
🩷Capillary Refill time

🐾 One of the most common worms are tapeworm, your pet can ingest these by grooming and eating flea, this is why regular worming treatment is so important
🐾 even indoor cats can suffer from these parasites as we can bring them in on our clothes.
