Usually at Christmas we, at Beany’s Pet Care, like to support an animal charity. If anyone wants to buy any dog or cat food for the poor dogs and cats in rescue centres this Christmas I can collect and drop off at the collection point at Ashlands Vets.

For my 15th anniversary of my business starting I am currently doing a collection for the Hedgehog rescue in Otley.

I will be taking all the donations to Prickly Pigs on Sunday.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated so generously. If anyone still has any cat biscuits, cat or dog wet food or puppy pads please let me know and I will collect before I go on Sunday.

Not only do the rescue have many adult hedgehogs they also have 30 orphaned hoglets so they are desperate for supplies to keep looking after them so well.

On the 2nd of July, unbelievably, it will be 15 years since I started my dog walking and pet care business. A couple of the original dogs and cats are amazingly still with us - but many more have sadly gone over the rainbow bridge. I have been so thankful to have lots of new dogs and cats over the years - and such loyal owners who have come back to me when a new dog or cat has joined the family - and for this I am incredibly grateful.

I am starting the birthday celebrations (as we did for my 10th birthday) by launching a small fundraiser. I am always trying to help local pet rescues and have recently been involved with ‘Prickly Pigs’ Hedgehog Rescue in Otley. I have my own hedgehog house in my garden and have been very fortunate to have regular visits from a couple of hedgehogs.

Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue are an absolutely amazing charity - rescuing, treating, rehabilitating and releasing hundreds of severely injured and ill hedgehogs each year. Hedgehogs are becoming increasingly endangered and it’s a privilege to help them.

They have to raise every penny needed for the treatment of the hedgehogs and rely on donations to help them. I am therefore making a request for donations to give to this rescue. I am NOT asking for money but would like to ask for things they need.

They are desperate for food - either tins or sachets of wet cat/dog food or cat biscuits (not dog biscuits). Perhaps people could just add a box of cat biscuits, or a box of wet food, to the weekly shop ?

Also needed are puppy pads for the baby hoglets who are kept in the incubators and boxes of blue surgical gloves.

I would be so grateful for anything you can donate and I (or Lisa) will collect when we pick up the dogs or visit the cats. Or I am happy to drive round to pick up any donations if you let me know.

Just around my ‘birthday weekend’ I will take the donations to the rescue in recognition of 15 successful years of pet care.

After having my council inspection this morning for my boarding licence I am pleased to say that Beanys Pet Care has once again received a 5 ⭐️ - three year licence. (Certificate to follow)

Lots of continuous hard work goes into getting licensed for home boarding so I am delighted to have received the highest award possible.

Now onward with the 2022 boarders !!
